Obama to Graduates: Dont Believe the Media By CNSNews.com Staff May 14, 2012
(CNSNews.com) - President Barack Obama pointed a finger at the news media today when he gave the commencement address at all-female Barnard College in New York City, attributing some of the blame for what he described as a lack of faith in American institutions on news reports that focus on sensationalism and scandal and carry a message that change isnt possible."
In a survey conducted last September, Gallup discovered that 47 percent of Americans believe the media is "too liberal" while only 13 percent believe it is "too conservative." Thirty-six percent said they believed the media was "just about right."
And while opportunities for women have grown exponentially over the last 30 years, as young people, in many ways you have it even tougher than we did, Obama said.
This recession has been more brutal, the job losses steeper, he said. Politics seems nastier. Congress more gridlocked than ever. Some folks in the financial world have not exactly been model corporate citizens.
No wonder that faith in our institutions has never been lower, particularly when good news doesnt get the same kind of ratings as bad news anymore, Obama said. Every day you receive a steady stream of sensationalism and scandal and stories with a message that suggest change isnt possible; that you cant make a difference; that you wont be able to close that gap between life as it is and life as you want it to be.

LOL!!
Heh. Without the media he is merely a deflated balloon.
Have to agree with him on this.
Pray for America
Don’t look at that man behind the curtain. I am the great and powerful Barack!
Bwahahahahah! Pot calling kettle black, hadji calling pigmy a little cheater.
He meant Fox News, of course. He regards NBC, ABS, CBS, CNN, etc. as his Department of Communications and Public Relations.
Boy, he sure knows how to lay an emotional appeal on an idiot...even an idiot with a college degree.
You meant “Ministry of Truth”, right? < /sarc >
You mean the same media that helped you get elected and has protected you for the past 4 years? That media?
“Without the media he is merely a deflated balloon.”
Yup. Reminds me of my nephew’s classmate who makes a couple of gaffes and the parent’s interject “Oh, what he really meant was..”
“Thirty-six percent said they believed the media was “just about right.”
Did they interview the mental asylum patients?
You don’t have to be a weatherman to see which way the wind is blowing.
These college kids will be the ones to regret allowing rampant corporatism loose on this nation. Sorry ‘bout your luck, kids.
