A completely misleading remark; I have a cousin who is “Japanese born” because my uncle was stationed there; after the age of three months, my 100% Caucasion American cousin left Japan with his family and never saw it again. Valerie Jarret is a black American whose father was working in Iran for a short time. She was born there, a happenstance. No connection to Persian history or ethnicity.

Jarrett was born in Shiraz, Iran to American parents James E. Bowman and Barbara Taylor Bowman
