Voting for Romney (D-Mass.): The Worst Mistake a Conservative Could Make

Well you certainly have the courage of your convictions. I have not read many of the replies, but imagine the Republicans on this Conservative forum are frothing at the mouth.

It was hard for me to reach the conclusion I did back in 1998, that the GOP had finally morphed into the power/money grabbing machine that it has. I wanted so hard to believe that they still represented my Constitutionally Conservative values. But they don't and more than likely hadn't for many years before I left.

There is no way I could take the author's suggestion and vote for Hussein. But I have no problem voting for Virgil Goode.

Thanks for posting this. The truth hurts; especially all the "party faithful" that permeate this forum.

Precisely on point, FRiend. The government takeover of the health care system amounts to government assumption of one fifth of the economy and leverage over citizens from cradle to grave. Romney is the means by which a flawed initial attempt at this expansion (socialization) of government can be polished and successfully implemented. We must not let our distaste of Obama blind us to the fact that Romney more than Obama is the tool capable of bringing about this change.

In what way? RomneyCare has enjoyed its sixth anniversary; ObamaCare hasn't been fully implemented yet and already faces repeal. Which candidate do you feel is better suited to establish socialized medicine nation wide?

I’m totally willing to join a rebellion. It’s the form and substance of the rebellion that remains elusive.

Personally, I wish there were a way to separate red states from blue states under two governments so we could give it a go as two countries. We are just about evenly split in this country now with one half wanting liberal big-government socialism and the other half wanting conservative limited-government capitalism. And ne’er the twain shall meet. It’s revolving-door policies. We rotate between the two forms of government (w/ variations of each) depending on which party has control.

But conservative America is not yet ready for such a bold rebellion. And until they are, we must work within the revolving-door system we have, even if we want to establish a new conservative party.

I’m leaning heavily toward voting for the Republican nominee. The election is still six months away; the convention only three. Much can happen between now and then. (Natural disasters, race wars, civil unrest, economic collapse, the death of either candidate, terrorist attacks, etc.)

I’ll be praying about my decision until I walk into the booth.

I want every God-fearing, liberty-loving American to go to the polls and vote their conscience. I want a turnout greater than 2010. I want the tea party rebellion of 2010 to explode and go viral in 2012. I want grassroots tea party conservatives to be voted into as many offices at every level of government that is humanly possible. And if it is in accordance to God’s will then I pray that the new moral majority will drive out the godless abortionists, the homosexualists, the militant feminists, the whacko environmentalists, the statists, the socialists, the Marxists, the communists, the activist and internationalist “Rulers in black robes,” and all the corrupt crony capitalists, the evil doers and assorted enemies of God and Liberty from our government at every level and from all of our government and public institutions.
