Trayvon Martin Had Drugs in System, Autopsy Found

Trayvon Martin, the 17-year-old who was shot and killed by a neighborhood watch volunteer, had the drug THC in his system the night of this death, according to new information obtained by ABC News.

The revelation came as prosecutors in the case prepared to release to the public hundreds of pages of new evidence along with videos and crime scene photos.

Martin's death sparked public outrage after police released Martin's shooter, George Zimmerman, without any criminal charges for the killing.

Zimmerman, 28, is a multi-racial Hispanic man who shot the black high school junior at close range on Feb. 26, and claimed self-defense, though Martin was unarmed. Zimmerman was later charged with second-degree murder, and the killing provoked widespread debate about racial profiling.

Just my snide shot at the media’s over-the-top attempt initially to paint Martin as a model young lad - almost “saintly” - who was murdered in a cold blooded hate crime solely because he was Black. As the truth emerges, evidence mounts that he was certainly not an innocent young saint, and this is simply another piece of such evidence.

If pot makes you mellow, then why do all gang members smoke pot? You would think they would never go and commit any crimes if they were mellowed out on pot.

All generalizations are false. ;-D Many people are mellowed by pot ... which is why many people can truthfully say that all the pot users they ever knew found pot mellowing ... which is why many people sincerely believe that pot is always mellowing. I suspect (have no objective stats at hand) that pot is mellowing for most users - but I don't doubt that there are a few "mean stoners" like there are many "mean drunks."

I wish I had confidence that Zimmerman will get a fair trial under the circumstances. Watching this unfold has weakened any faith I had in our legal system when politics is involved. I'm lucky that my own experiences have been limited to jury duty and traffic court (for having a tail light that wasn't working).

I assume Fox isn't as bad as the others (but don't watch the others). They were still slanting the coverage this morning--when they showed a clip of Trayvon in the store they said "15 or 20 minutes before he was shot" when there was previous evidence indicating it was more like an hour (meaning he had been wandering around looking at the houses where no one was home for a while), and they said he had consumed marijuana within the last three weeks.

The idea seems to be that Zimmerman has to prove he did not start the confrontation--he is the only living witness and if they tell the jurors "don't believe him, he's lying" then the prosecutor can just construct a scenario where he is the aggressor, like the special prosecutor did, based on Trayvon's girlfriend's recollection of the phone conversation.

O'Reilly has been poor on this topic. Hannity was good at first but seems to have been scared off.

Santorum was the one who jumped on the anti-Zimmerman bandwagon.

I think black anti-Semitism was a factor too--either Sharpton or some other rabble-rouser got the idea that Zimmerman is Jewish and that may have played a part in them wanting him punished. Zimmerman is a Catholic and I haven't seen any evidence that the family was ever Jewish (the surname is derived from an occupation and isn't necessarily Jewish--I had a classmate in high school named Zimmerman who was a Catholic).

I think you are right about that. The Klan with the Tan thought Zimmerman was a twofer enemy: White and Jewish. Turns out he’s an American mutt and Catholic. The Klan hates Catholics, too. In truth, they hate anyone who is not Black. Like all racists...

If the judge does not throw out the charges, a jury will decide the case. Z has a very good lawyer. The left and their media tried to do this kind of witch hunt against some white men at Duke and were not successful.

Fox News is more and more becomming a p.c. group think operation. They are intolerant of anyone disagreeing with the p.c. political and social line. They came out against Zimmerman and they will stay that way until he’s proven innocent. That is up-side-down because in our justice system Zimmerman does not have to prove he’s innocent - the prosecutor has to prove he’s guilty and that is the only way they should be looking at this case. But p.c. is an up-side-down system of thought - what is good is evil and what is evil is good.

There are good people in the Sanford area and hopefully some will get on the jury. All it will take is one to get a hung jury - if worse comes to worse. Don’t worry.

you’re right

i have seen haloperidol used on schizophrenic patients cause sweats, muscle twitching and unbridled energy bursts...pacing and enormous coffee drinking

it has strong idiosyncratic features in some

like the way some narcotics give some folks a lot of energy or the stimulant ritalin actually slows down pre adults

Haldol is a serious medication, a favorite of the old Soviet gulag to sedate prisoners

our anti psychotic dope leaves a lot to be desired
