COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- A white Colorado second-grade student who wore black face paint as part of a Martin Luther King costume has drawn criticism from school officials.
Sean King was pulled out of class Wednesday after donning the makeup for a project requiring students to dress up as a historical figure.

American leadership should declare a national black face holiday. Everybody would appear in blackface and go about their daily affairs. We could have the day sometime in February.

You are probably correct given tody’s PC sickness. Many of us were born and raised at a time when Al Jolson and blackface was acceptable.
Poor judgment on their part? I saw the kid in costume on TV, and he actually looked a little bit like MLK. Without the blackface, nobody would have known who he was supposed to be. The trouble is this incredible hypersensitive PC victimization complex that makes people who are incredibly “tolerant” deny the very reality of human differences.
The schools are now getting rid of all references to Indians. They just never existed, I guess. Perhaps other minorities could be similarly deleted from the memory of schoolchildren. Would that make the multiculturalists joyful?

Reminds me of a kid who did an oral report on Adolph Hitler and dressed as the German dictator—he too was tossed out of school. I always wonder if he would have been expelled if he had done his report on and dressed as Stalin or Lenin? this happened a few years ago.
Right. I think all the PC stuff is ridiculous and in our day it would not have been a problem, but you just can’t do that anymore even if it does look like MLK. A white person can’t, a black person can.
We are allowing ourselves to be dominated. In fact it is more and more sounding like we are a conquered people unable to speak against our former slaves now our new lords. The Helots have overthrown and defeated the Spartans.
