Has the bell begun to toll for the GOP?

Among the more controversial chapters in "Suicide of a Superpower," my book published last fall, was the one titled, "The End of White America."
   
It dealt with the demographic decline of the white majority and what it portends for education, the U.S. economy, politics and national unity.
   
That book and chapter proved the proximate cause of my departure from MSNBC, where the network president declared that subjects such as these are inappropriate for "the national dialogue."
   
Apparently, the mainstream media are reassessing that.
   
For, in rare unanimity, The New York Times, The Washington Post and USA Today all led yesterday with the same story.
   
"Whites Account for Under Half of Births in U.S.," blared the Times headline. "Minority Babies Majority in U.S.," echoed the Post. "Minorities Are Now a Majority of Births," proclaimed USA Today.
   
The USA Today story continued, "The nation's growing diversity has huge implications for education, economics and politics."
   
Huge is right.
   
Not only are whites declining as a share of the population, they are declining in real terms. Between 2010 and 2011, the number of births to white women fell 10 percent. The median age of white Americans, now 43 and rising, means that half of all white women have moved past the age that they are ever likely to bear more children.
   
White America is a dying tribe.
   
What do these statistics mean politically? Almost surely the end of the Republican Party as a national governing institution.
   
Republicans now depend on the vanishing majority for fully 90 percent of their votes in presidential elections, while the Democratic Party wins 60 to 70 percent of the Asian and Hispanic vote and 90 to 95 percent of the black vote.
   
The Democratic base is growing inexorably, while the Republican base is shriveling.
   
Already, California, Illinois and New York are lost. The GOP has not carried any of the three in five presidential elections. When Texas -- where whites are a minority and a declining share of the population -- tips, how does the GOP put together an electoral majority?
   
Western states like Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Arizona, which Republican nominees like Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan swept almost every time they ran, are becoming problematic for the party.
   
Thus the GOP refrain: We must work harder to win over Hispanics.
   
Undeniably true. But how does the GOP appeal to them?
   
Fifty-three percent of all Hispanic children are born out of wedlock, with no father in the home and many of the moms themselves high school dropouts. Most Hispanic kids thus start school far behind.
   
In tests of fourth-, eighth- and 12th-graders, their scores are closer to those of African-American kids than whites and Asians. Their dropout rate matches that of black kids. Absent affirmative action, not only are America's colleges and universities but her professions are going to look far more Asian and white than the national population.
   
Not a formula for social peace.
   
Comes the reply: We must spend more to close the racial gap in test scores. Yet, according to The Washington Examiner, in the District of Columbia, the community where we have spent perhaps the most per capita to close the racial gap in test scores, the racial gap is by far the largest in the nation.
   
Not only do we seem not to know how to close it after four decades of plunging trillions into public schools, the country is tapped out. We are in the fourth consecutive year of trillion-dollar deficits, and our largest and richest state, California, just discovered its deficit has exploded to $16 billion.
   
And why should Hispanics vote Republican?
   
The majority of Hispanics are among that half of the population that pays no income tax. Why should they vote for a party whose major plank is that it will cut income taxes?
   
Hispanics benefit disproportionately from government programs.
   
Government puts their kids in Head Start before public school and provides them with Pell grants and student loans after public school.
   
From kindergarten through 12th grade, government educates their kids for free. Government provides them with free or subsidized health care through Medicaid and clinics. Government provides their families with public housing and rent supplements. Government provides the food stamps that feed the family. Government provides them with an annual earned income tax credit, a check just for working. 
   
Government provides all these things, and what are Republicans going to do? They promise to cut government.
   
Again, why should Hispanics vote Republican?
   
Establishment Republicans say the party should support amnesty for illegal aliens. Yet this would make millions more eligible for federal programs in a country sinking in debt and mean millions more Hispanics going to the polls, and millions more coming to America in anticipation of the next amnesty.
   
How would that help the GOP?
   
By endlessly expanding Great Society programs, by lopping taxpayers off tax rolls, by supporting open borders and endless immigration from the Third World, the Republican Party, out of sheer nobility of character, has probably ensured its impending departure from history.

Yep, and it's not just Liberal whites, just look at this or any other thread. In any thread that deals with immigration and/or race you are guaranteed to see two types of post

1) Posters who will actually argue that there is no such thing as a Hispanic.

Yes Really! We are being over run and they want to argue semantics. Yeah, they may convince themselves that there are no Hispanics, but Hispanics most certainly see themselves as Hispanic and not White or American. La Raza = The Race. Get it.

2) Conservatives that are under the delusion that if we can just find someone who can articulate our positions well, Hispanics (and even Blacks) will see the error of their ways and vote Conservative. The "Duuuhhh Hispanics go to church, so that means they are Conservatives" posters.

Well for starters You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into and secondly what Whites don't get is other groups put their race above all. Call it Ethic pride or Tribalism or whatever, but to them that trumps all and things like Liberty, the Constitution, Self Determination are meaningless terms. Democrats pander to their race, which is why they will always vote for them.

Calling these posters delusional is an understatement and unfortunately that delusion is going to lead to a lot of misery and suffering in the future.

When we win the election in November and our new President is sworn in...he will repeal and reverse and once he does that the people will begin to rejoice and relish in the fact they have jobs again and can dream, own homes, be successful knowing it is a GOOD thing. The past will be overcome and we will be on the move upward!!!

Lack of principles certainly doesn’t help, but demographics are a huge part of it.

As to the founding, well maybe those principles don’t have anything inherently to do with ethnicity, but the fact is that the founders weren’t a very diverse group ethnically speaking. And we haven’t seen anything like it spring up outside of other lands settled by the British.

The fact is that conservative, limited-government principles appeal mostly to whites. I don’t know why that is, but it’s a fantasy to think that an increasingly non-white nation is going to embrace the (now) very conservative principles of our Founding and our Constitution.

Not sure if you’re joking, but Romney will also be terrible on immigration.

Now having said that let me say that I will gladly vote for Romney this fall. Obama is a terrible President, and I’m sure Romney would be better in all areas. Though I’ve never been a Romney fan, I would gladly take him as President over the horrible Obama. I will eagerly encourage others to vote Romney too, mostly because the alternative is so bad.

On immigration Romney deserves points for (so far) opposing amnesty and the Dream Act. He deserves a lot of credit for cluing the mainstream media into the concept of self-deportation. So on this he is infinitely superior to Obama.

Sadly, though, Romney falls into the typical bad habit of trying to soften his stance on illegal immigration by expressing how much he loves legal immigration. He has even said he’d like to increase legal immigration, which is just another way of saying one would like to hasten the demographic destruction of the GOP, or at least of any conservative movement.

Pat Buchanan's book Demise of a Superpower was hard reading because the truth hurts. He covers all the issues in regard to the decline of the white population. I think the feminist movement and the effect on the white male has been the most detrimental to the white population. Women were brain washed to have careers instead of babies. The irony is that in the end the wealth that was acquired by white women working will be handed over to the Hispanic , Black and Southeast Asian populations by our own government through welfare programs. Our country, our liberty , our private property was taken without one shot being fired, amazing.

A great dream that was.
But it was only a dream.

Jefferson’s platitudes crumble in the onslaught of millions who are ethnically different from the small circle of men who surrounded him when he penned The Declaration.

It seemed a bold and noble idea, back in the day when common but bright men were struggling to free themselves of a European culture that had been based upon the Divine Right of Kings. What better way than to create an egalitarian paradigm which professed that no longer would there be kings, because all men were “equal”?

But as inspired as egalitarianism seems, it flies in the face of reality. And it is reality which conservatism must be founded upon, not blind idealism.

To insist on doing so when a simple look around reveals a truth and a future that can not be ignored or wished away, is a fool’s errand.

Call them whatever you want but most hispanics are just native americans (both north and south) who have completely lost touch with their native roots and have no idea what tribe of native civilization they are descended from.

There is no Hispanic race.

There are only native americans (probably 90% of all hispanics) and the rest are just a mixture of native americans and other races (especially the island hispanics from the Caribbean)

The GOP hasn't had a principled stand on anything much for as long as I can remember, certainly since Reagan.

Dems aside, the Bush's were a disaster nearly, only nearly, on the scale of Obama.

You got that right. Why do people not understand that societies are made of the people in them? People of African descent make Africa (and Haiti, Detroit). People from Mexico have made Mexico what it is, and that culture is what they bring to the "barrios"-along with liberal policies in America enabling the worst of the culture (higher illegitimacy, government dependency). People of European descent made western civilisations (including, now, the suicidal liberal policies which are destroying that very civilisation).

I know. If Hispanics largely vote Democrat now for the gimmees, if their desire for gimmees trumps their so-called “family values” (what a laugh, when their rates of illegitimacy climb higher once they’re ensconced in the US in Section 8 housing), what in the world makes anyone think that the GOP can reach these voters through their “family values”? All the GOP can do is out-pander the rats, and it appears to me that they’re trying to do a damn fine job of that already. It worked so well with black voters, I’ve heard for years about how fundamentally socially conservative that voting bloc is, I’m still waiting to see proof of it. The gimmees trump those mythical “values” every election.

Well said. For example, not only do people of African descent NOT create what we in western civilisation consider thriving societies, they actually reverse thriving societies created by those of European descent (see Detroit, South Africa). It’s just as well that whites are being bred-out, what sane white person would want to live in the kinds of societies formed in most of the Third World? On our way out, we can thank insane political correctness-foisted upon us by suicidal whites on both sides of the political spectrum-for creating the conditions which led to this.

The people that leave me angry are those who after being viciously victimized go to court and “forgive” the perp. I have read articles of children being killed and the parents “forgive” the perp.
