Any comment I might make will only appear to make me look like a sexist, when in reality, it is quite the opposite. I have such respect for women, that I would not want them to put in harms way in combat. On the other hand, who am I to stand in the way of someone who wishes to fight heart and soul for their country and its values.

Well, if you look sexist than so do I. Women do not belong in combat. Can they be doctors, nurses, etc...? Sure. I personally see that women in the military are doing a service for their country. Service does not only include front lines/combat IMHO. Supportive roles held by women are important and valued. IMHO.
It’s not about willingness it’s about capability both physical and emotional.
I’m not one of those who think men and women are created equal. Men are better at certain things and women are likewise better at other things. Anyone who believes otherwise is nuts, pure and simple
