When you eat the poorly cooked meat you eat the cyst with the larva and it developes into the adult worm. When you eat the egg it hatches out, migrates through the body to form the cyst. It is the migration to the brain that is the most damaging. Once you get the adult tapeworm in your GI tract and you don't wash you hands you eat more eggs thus more migrating larva that form the cysts.
