A Collier County man accused of shooting two doe deer says he needed to feed his family.
The Naples Daily News reports Castillo told deputies he shot the deer because he was unemployed and needed food to feed his family. He said he was on his way home from dog hunting with his son when he spotted two deer running across the road. Castillo said he got out of his car and shot them.

humble ain't playing possum is he?
Nope, but I've trapped a few that refuse to leave the trap.
Waiting for me to throw another pork chop bone in there, no doubt.
Gunner, did you go and get y’seff banned again? Dang!
As I became an adult he was replaced(he died)by a guy who went strictly by the rules and would jail anyone for killing a deer out of season, by that time my family didn't poach, as we didn't need the meat to survive. If this guy really needed the meat, he is welcome to it in my opinion.
No, the OldPossum is the same person who signed on in December 2001. Ain’t nobody else.
No humble ... NO! ... do not want possum for supper. Am thinking this was what the Lady was thinking.
Curses!
Gee whiz! Can everybody read my mind?
It all must be leakin’ out my dang ears or somethin’.
Gunner, quit gettin’ banned! No, I’m not gonna do a zot post when you do. Happens too often.
You can’t see a profile page for a banned poster.
I am allergic to corn, might be the same thing.
If I did that I wouldn't be able to justify my array of proxy servers and Soros would pull my funding.
Trolls gotta eat, yo.
Eeek! Shhhh... Very well. You go on ahead then.
He's alive and well - some folks would say more wolverine than possum, but I don't mind wolverines unless they are the maize-and-blue kind.
The government bought my grandfather’s cattle, shot them and left them to rot while people in town were starving. Government people actually made sure no one could use the meat- guarded the dead animals. I understand the government did this nation wide with cattle, pigs, etc.
Hmmm... so Gunner is a wolverine? The pieces all fall into place.
You have poached the King’s thread! Off with your head!
:)
I was watching a video about Detroit, and they were talking with some old, OLD guy and he was saying how rough it was, how poor he is, etc. (In the background were a couple of dogs barking and I was thinking - well - maybe you could find another home for the dogs and save some money).
As soon as I had thought that he was out of his chair and going into the backyard where he had a freezer. A sign said “Coons: $5.00 2 for $8.00”
He used the dogs to hunt raccoons in the wilds of Detroit! And sold them for food. He described how to prepare them too. I really felt bad judging the guy, and here he was just another entrepreneur!
(They also showed how much of Detroit HAS turned back to wild land). Of course all of those videos were made back in the days of G.W. Bush.
That must be some interesting scenery, a major city turned into farms and woodlands.
I don’t know about eating raccoons, though. Being a cousin of bears, I imagine they are really greasy.
