#1, if Obama's Muslim-catering is fair game for focus on these threads -- as just you & many others (including myself) have done...then what's wrong with focusing on Romney's Mormonism?
#2, who are the ones worrying? Seems to me it's the many FREEPERs who have forfeited principles and are voting out of sheer "anti" fear...and are voting for Romney for zero-to-none "pro" reasons and all kinds of "anti-Obama" reasons.
Actually, for the past five years, it's been those of us FREEPERs who take our cultural cue from a certain "Lord" named Jesus Christ who haven't been worried or fearful who have CONSTANTLY stressed this one verse Jesus mentioned:
"I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him." (Luke 12:4-5)
So does Jesus say, "fear the Muslims?" (No)
Does Jesus say "fear the terrorists?" (No)
Does Jesus say "fear certain political parties?" (No)
Instead, does He say to exercise fear of the One who has authority to cast somebody into hell? (Yes)
So, indeed, our "fear" is on behalf of those who are placing their eternal spiritual lives at risk.
If many FREEPERs would "get over" their fear of Muslims, terrorists, and Obama, they could actually make a proactive difference in this world instead of always having to live reactively fearful.
My former mother-in-law was shot at in a Muslim country for her Christian faith. Maybe I should heed your statement and call her up and tell her to she needs to be more concerned about the Mormon missionaries riding by on bicycles.
I have a very simple question for Colofornian: would you feel safer living in Salt Lake City or in Cairo?
