Pizza Patron is Spanish for Br'er Rabbit... and sure enough, Freepers are lining up to throw him into the briar patch.

Br'er Rabbit is a character in Uncle Remus Tales. One time he gets caught by the Fox and Wolf, who debate how to kill him. Every way to kill him they discuss, Br'er Rabbit agrees to be killed that way, but pleads that he not be thrown into the briar patch. Finally the Fox and Wolff do what Br'er Rabbit has been begging them not to do, and and throw him the briar patch.

Of course being thrown into the briar patch is just Br'er Rabbit wanted to happen, and he scampers off to safety.

Pizza Patron pulls stunts like this because it gets them millions tens of millions in free publicity.
