Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the SCOTUS has already ruled on this; they just don’t publish it until the end of the session. If so, it’s too late to influence the Court. I suspect they all know that would be futile anyway — how many SCOTUS judges are going to be cowed by threats from Pat Leahy?

This is all a show for the benefit of their demoralized base.

Yes the vote has been taken, but justices have been known to change their mind before the formal decision is handed down, after reflecting on their decision and reading the other justices opinions.

Yup, vote taken but change possible. IMO it’s just the libs stirring up the base and setting the stage for chaos once the ruling is made public.

The Dems know full well they have no direct power over SCOTUS but as always they wish to portray the illusion of power they do not possess. They count on the silence and unwillingness of the court to publically ‘fight back’. That’s why they made so much hay over the “That’s not true’ deal at the SOU. I guess it does help them consolidate the power they do have in a ‘united front/rally the troops” sort of way, but they can do nothing, short of a naked usurpation. And the results of that would be ugly for them.
