You can have this long weekend off. But get ready right after for a ton of politics news about Wisconsin.
June 5 is the election in Wisconsin, the unions' attempt to recall Republican Gov. Scott Walker using Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett. Yeah, Yeah, yeah, you say. That's a re-run of the 2010 election. And you're right. It is. And the same result is likely, according to late polls.
But this time much more is at stake. This time Wisconsin's election has become a symbol of the national struggle between Republicans and Democrats, between fiscal restraint and spending as usual, between President Obama's vision of uncontrolled spending to transform America into something else and the opposite.
The stakes are huge. Because either way the winning side will interpret Cheeseland's verdict as emblematic of the national mood, with a national election coming just 154 days later.
Obama didn't deliver what he promised the unions during this term. So, his operatives at the Democratic National Committee are quietly sending in money and help to oust Walker, a fiscal hawk whose budget cuts, collective bargaining reforms and radical ideas such as teachers paying some of their pension are already benefiting local governments and school boards.
But Obama doesn't want a high profile there in case the Dems lose there again. The Real Good Talker is already suffering from E.D., Election Dysfunction as a significant number of voters have opted for nobodies or "Uncommitted" against him in Democratic primaries, even though he's essentially unchallenged.
As we wrote here the other day, Obama took only 58% of the Democratic primary in Arkansas and 57.9% in Kentucky on Tuesday.

The polls look good...the looming fraud looks bad.
The reporter is correct. This is a do or die election, not only for Wisconsin voters and citizens, but the very nation itself. A Scott Walker loss would give great strength to Obama and his Democrat/Labor ilk to continue to destroy the republic aand get Obama re-elected. A Scott Walker win would just about doom Obama to electoral defeat in November. It is imperative for the sake and future of our nation, our children, our grandchildren and our children yet to come that every Wisconsin voter, vote for Scott Walker to defeat these evill people that wish to destroy our beloved country, forever!!!
I’m a proud Packer fan, born in Langlade county Wisconsin. I’m fairly certain that the sane citizens of Wisconsin (those not living in Milwaukee or Dane county)will return the state to a somewhat conservative viewpoint.
Forty-two years ago we were in Green Bay visiting friends. My eight-year-old son stood on the football field and had his picture taken with one of the coaches - what a wonderful memory. He will always treasure that picture and our family will always be Packer fans.

I know of a couple lived near Green Bay, filed for divorce and battled over who “owned” the rights to the tickets for over three years. He ended up with them but it cost him almost $200,000 in legal fees and his half of everything else. Bad thing was wife hated football and would never go to the games when they were married.
Would love to come back for a game but my blood is too thin to venture that far north anymore. I have a Packer shirt, always watch when they are on TV and yell loudly. My son says you all can hear me all the way to Wisconsin.
My conservative cousin and his wife and daughter will be on Walker’s side June 5th. I hope Wisconsin whips the union’s @ss. Get rid of the scourge!
Obama’s Battle of the Bulge?
The talking heads on MSNBC have said that people in Wisconsin are outraged about what this governor has done. That’s why there is a recall in the first place, according to Rachel, Ed, “Toure”, and the gang.
Can’t wait to hear how they spin the results, if things go according to the polls. After mounting a recall effort, it will be a bitter pill to swallow if they come up short.
I went to a game last year, and actually Grams, it’s more fun to watch at home. Lots o’drunk Viking fans and it was cold.
So party on!
I so hope Governor Walker prevails. This is a true test of the sentiment in Wisconsin and in the country.
My Bible class has chosen to do a summer study of a book by Diana Bass called “Christianity for the Rest of Us.”
When I checked her out, I saw that she had written an article for the Huff Post criticizing Walker as non-Christian because of his policies.
(She also critized George W. Bush for the Afghan war and for thinking Americans are better than Muslims).
Anyway, I decided I didn’t want to spend my summer with this woman so I’ve opted out. I’ll go back in the fall.

I went to a Texas Ranger game with my kids and didn’t see a single play plus it was cold.
But the atmosphere was way fun. I didn’t mind the drinkers as long as I got a couple of sips for myself.
I didn’t dare drink beer as the restrooms are down a flight of steps and crowded, but I got the first sip of every beer my son bought. That was plenty.
I watched the Rangers on TV last night and saw every play... but the fun wasn’t quite there.

If Walker wins, you can count on the press to either ignore it completely or try to pretend it is about something other than Union greed . . . and let’s not even talk about the inevitable recounts!
