Easy there Hoss. I was no fan of that decision either but for gawdsakes, if I listed every stupid decision made regarding the Navy over the past 4 administrations, I would have been writing all night.

Well Hoss, it would be prudent to hold off judgment about the F-35 until it completes flight testing, achieves IOC and begins accumulating flight hours. Before we stick a fork in it let us not forget that much of the same was said about the V-22. You don't hear much, if anything, these days from the buffoons, many of whom posted here on FR, that predicted doom for that aircraft.

Has Lockheed Martin poorly managed the project? Indeed they have but a large part of the blame lies at the feet of NAVAIR whose reputation would have to rise several orders of magnitude to reach the level of fecal.
