Texas conservatives did good work, but the nation needs them even more now. The runoff is in July and a lot can happen from now to then.

Some Congressional outcomes:

District 4: Ralph Hall won the primary with approximately 60% of the vote.

District 14: Ron Paul leaving Congress. The top two finishers are state Representative Randy Weber and Pearland Councilwoman Felicia Harris. Weber’s strong finish was expected, while Harris’s was something of a surprise. The winner of the runoff will face ex-Congressman Nick Lampson, who once represented part of this area during the 1990’s.

District 16: Big surprise- El Paso Councilman Beto O’Rourke is leading longtime incumbent Silverstre Reyes in the ‘Rat primary with 1/4 of the precincts still out. A runoff is very possible.

District 23: Freshman Congressman Fransisco Canseco (R) isn’t sure who his opponet will be. Ex-Congerssman Ciro Rodriguez, whom Cansico defeated in 2010, is well ahead and may be able to avoid a runoff.

District 25: Bad news, Michael Williams won’t be elected to Congress. He did not run a highly visible campaign, too bad, as he was my favorite. Ex-SOS Roger Williams will be in the runoff, though second place is undecided.

District 33: A new, heavily ‘Rat district features a runoff between state Representative Marc Veasy and former state Representative Domingo Garcia, with voting heavily on ethnic lines. Republicans are a non-factor in this area.

District 36: A new, heavily Republican district was supposed to elect state Senator Mike Jackson, but he finished third place. The runoff will be between long-ago Congressman Steve Stockton and businessman Stephen Takach.

Hall was challenged? We probably would have been well served with some fresh blood.

Lampson is at it again? When will he get the message?

Also of note I believe Hispanic rats hoped to beat Lloyd Dogget but he won easily.

Ralph Hall needs to retire.
He’s gonna be 91 when he is voted in.

I didn’t know Steve Stockman was trying to win a new seat. That’s funny, he’s the freshman that Lampson beat in 1996.
