(Reuters) - Former President Bill Clinton believes a candidate with Republican Mitt Romney's business success and political background is qualified for the White House, but he said Democratic President Barack Obama would be a better choice for the country.
"There is no question that in terms of getting up and going to the office and basically performing the essential functions of the office, a man who has been governor and had a sterling business career crosses the qualification threshold," Clinton said of Romney in an interview with CNN on Thursday.
"But they have dramatically different proposals, and it's my opinion, anyway, that the Obama proposals and the Obama record is far better for the American economy and most Americans than those that Governor Romney has laid out," Clinton said of his fellow Democrat. "That's what the election ought to be about."

That’s probably the best the Obama campaign will get out of Bubba. He’ll go through the motions of supporting Obama but it will be obvious he really does not like the guy.

Looks like Bill just gave Obama a left-handed compliment. Clinton...the master of implying the unsaid...and infamous for his word-games...if you know what "is" is.

As a southpaw, I am a little tired of hearing about “left-handed compliments.” As a Southerner, I am a little tired about people always saying “things are going south” when the going gets tough.
My feewings are hurt. Call a wambulance. I want damages. Maybe a class action is appropriate.
I am a little serious about the foregoing, but not much. Of the two examples cited, it would be far more appropriate to say “things went north” when the SHTF. See Detroit for example.
As to the subject, Bill and Hill both hate Zero. That has been obvious for a long time. Nothing stellar about Zero except that he is lost in space.
