4. Try very hard to grasp the subtleties. If you believe anything at all, you have to believe it in the context of a higher authority or it’s nothing but your opinion, which is no better than anyone else’s opinion.

2. Try—really try—to understand this. What I said was that *conservatism* is not logically consistent outside the the framework of Christianity.
You can say with logical consistency that, since there is no God, all things are permitted, and you are therefore free to rape, murder, and steal to your heart’s content. That is wrong, but it is neither conservative nor logically inconsistent.

Actually, Jesus said it. In John 14, Thomas asks Jesus, “We don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus replied, “I am the Way, THE TRUTH, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by me.” In that statement, if you read the entire chapter, Jesus proclaims that there is no other way to Heaven—not Allah, not Buddha, not the Constitution, not our own good deeds. If anyone believes that there is another way to Heaven besides Jesus, that person is not a Christian. I didn’t say it, no one on this thread did either. Jesus said it. He is #1 in my life, and I believe Him
