Even in the bluest of blue states, hes now treading water at 48 percent, still comfortably ahead of Romney but unable to grab a majority even in Cali. Big deal or no? Banish the thought from your mind that Romney has a chance of winning there. He doesnt although dont hold me to that if we get another three or four jobs reports that look like todays. No, the potential significance of this and the reason why theres some buzz about it among righties on Twitter is that its circumstantial evidence that The One might be starting to collapse nationally. Thats John Elliss point about the Wisconsin recall, after all: If Walker wins big there, then it may be a sign that a decisive national shift is already under way.
The obligatory historical comparison:

Yeah. Romney sucks.
Mittens ain’t winning CA. Don’t spend a dime there.
Liberalism must be cut off at the knees, never to walk again in my lifetime.
Same here in Virginia. Romney was certainly not my choice, but he is the nominee and I am going to work hard to see to it Hussein is defeated.
The Romney folks are very organized and are not going to play nice with the media and Obama campaign. These guys want to win FAR more than McCain or his people did.
The economy sucked in 1979, Reagan still had to go out and beat Carter.
Romney is obviously no Reagan, but he is proving to be a much better candidate this time around than people gave him credit for. At minimum, his campaign team is VASTLY better than the rank amateurs McCain hired in 2008.
and No Barry I won't shed any tears over your defeat...
A person can be malicious and incompetent. The two are not mutually exclusive.
No way Obama could have wrought this much destruction upon our country in 3.5 years if he were incompetent. No, the guy knows exactly what he's doing and is very good at it.
If you have any doubts, find out what the Cloward-Piven Strategy is, and then tell where he's deviated from it in any way.
If Obamacare goes down, the rest of the messiah’s “successes” can be reversed with an Executive Order.
You can’t reverse a currency collapse with an Executive Order. And we are getting very, very close to that. We’ve been given a short reprieve now only because the European Community is in such a shambles, and there is a “flight to quality” (LMAO!) to the US$. But that’s kind of like choosing between Stage IV cancer and advanced Stage IV cancer. In the end, it doesn’t really matter all that much either way. We’ve printed at least $5 trillion (that we know about — and who knows how much Bernanke sent overseas to shore up foreign banks?) in a $15 trillion economy. No, it’s not all circulating now. But guess what happens when it does....
He is not competent, he is just a bully.
California voted against homosexual marriage. It’s a state with a mountain of problems, but it’s not out of reach to a presidential candidate with a sound Conservative agenda, and the ability to articulate it.
Romney is not our idea of a Conservative, in fact I don’t think he is one, but he is running on what sounds like a Conservative agenda, will be seen that way by the public, and still has a chance to win in California if he doesn’t write it off like other Republican candidates over the last twenty years.
Frankly, I’d like to see our ideals presented in the state. It would introduce some of those ideals to young voters for the first time in their lives, with a loud enough voice it would be impossible to ignore.
“It’s attitudes like that that help ensure that we never win those states. Instead of writing those states off, the GOP should be pouring resources into them by running solid candidates at every level of office.”
For some selected local contests in “enemy states”, yes.
Generally speaking, no.
This election — at least at the presidential level — is going to be determined by the tallies in roughly 12 states.
In some states, it makes no difference how much the Republicans spend — they are going to lose.
In others, makes no difference how much the Republicans spend — they are going to win.
This year the “battleground states” are even more important, because Romney must win nearly ALL of them, in order to win enough electoral votes to become president.
The country has grown so divided that politics has become something akin to the medical concept of “triage”. That is, some states will be “dead to us” no matter what we do. Others will “live” (for us), whether we try in them or not. We must use what “resources” that are available to “save” those states that could go either way, because unless we keep them alive, we lose.
I’m not saying that we should abandon Republican and conservative candidates across the board in the blue states.
What I -AM- saying is that we should choose our battles carefully and spend our resources wisely.
The big one is just too important to lose this time. Our best chance is to throw nearly everything we have at the battleground states, and blast away!
Apparently, our disagreement lies in this: You see an Obama who wants to do good for the US and is failing miserably. I see an Obama who wants to destroy the US and is succeeding wildly.
We'll have to agree to disagree on this one.
I disagree. He is incompetent and stupid to boot. However, he is good at following orders, probably orders from Soros or others very like him. He has displayed his stupidity on too many occasions for him to be anything but a useful idiot to the left. He has followed the script and done a great job for ruining a once great country, but it wasn't his mind doing the planning. The teleprompters are a dead giveaway on just how stupid he is, plus the fact he hid his grades from the public.
The Slave Party would discover Zero's ineligibility before they let that happen. Trump might be the perfect foil by which to blame Republicans and keep the black vote on the plantation. Zero steps aside and Hillary! takes the money to run.
Frankly, I think the Clintonoids are setting Romney up for it, by getting Republicans to focus their minimal media access on Obama, rather than "Democrat policies."
I wouldn’t be to sure. There are more mormons in California than in any other state.
California is like a big watermelon, all red inside, with a thin blue rind.
The economy here stinks.
Watch what happens.
You are dead on!! Fools gold spent chasing nothing! Leave it, like a barren field grazed by “skinny asses” until nothing is left. Bet your last dollar, US tax payer bail-out is second term “O-nuffin” priority. The last 20 year exodus drained any chance. 1990-1998, Mountain View - miss the weather.
