Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker is borrowing a tactic from the George Clooney fundraising book, planning a campaign dinner for President Barack Obama and offering a chance to win two tickets with $3 online donations.
Parker, who is married to actor Matthew Broderick, sent an email to supporters and appeared in an advertisement on Sunday's MTV Movie Awards telling people of the online donations and tickets to the affair at her New York home.
"I'm hosting this event on June 14th because there is so much at stake this year and I want to keep doing what I can," she wrote in the email. "I hope you'll help me welcome President Obama and the First Lady to New York."
The email ask for donations of "$3 or whatever you can to be automatically entered." Parker's spokeswoman confirmed the event and the email but did not give further details about the cost of tickets for the fundraiser or how many people were expected.

What breed of seeing eye dog does Matthew use?
Brainless Hollywood. The Founding Fathers made a big mistake with the First Amendment that they could not have anticipated; namely, not everyone should have free speech protection.
Entertainers, actors, athletes wield tremendous influence on the public mind that is far, far beyond anything they merit or is healthy for the country. Most of them are rather dumb, high school dropouts, drug addicts, drunks, communists, who despise the country and who have no specific or special knowledge or understanding of politics or public policy that would justify allowing them to have such disproportionate influence on the public at large.
Just as we forbid active duty servicemen and women from speaking publicly on politics, entertainers, actors and athletes should face the same restriction. They would have to choose between being rich and silent or vocal and poor. Don’t feel sorry for them; that’s a choice most of us would love to have but never will.
I’m confused!! I give up.... will someone tell me which one is the horse??
This is a lottery. Don’t federal laws require a way for folks to enter without paying?
McCarthy was correct... ABOUT EVERYTHING! This is just another hollyweird communist elite.

The first talking horse since Mr. Ed....
I think Parker gets extra credit in NYC for being married to Matthew Broderick, who is one of our most successful stage actors. But I agree that the hype was there back when she was still single, and I never got it then either.
LOL
