Yeah, some legit martial artists do ware colored gi from time to time. However, Frank has worn a very pronounced blue gi with shoulder padding for the last X many years and yes, Jean Claude Van Damm did play his (bullshit) exploits in Blood Sport.

Before I explain how Frank is a total fraud, let me make a quick statement on Ninjas. There were real Japanese espionage agents and guerrilla warfare specialists. HOWEVER, their hand to hand combat techniques probably didn't look all that different from other Japanese Jujitsu of the time. Frank says that he had a Japanese neighbor that was one of if not the last Ninjitsu practitioners like in the movie. He also supposedly fought in an underground tournament, the Kumatie, and knocked out a couple hundred people in a couple hundred fights in a row. This guy is so full of shit, it spills over and he has suckerd a lot of people including Van Damm, a very good and respect Muay Thai practitioner (IMO, one of the best martial artists who became actors).
