THE SHOW "Take Me Out"
WHEN | WHERE Thursday at 8 p.m. on Fox/5
WHAT IT'S ABOUT George Lopez-hosted dating game show in which 30 women are lined up at podiums and asked to choose whether they want to date a bachelor who's trotted out for their inspection. If they don't like the guy, they press a button and the light goes out on their podium. Final round is the guy's -- he picks a finalist to go out on a date from multiple ladies who may have chosen him. Fox didn't have a review copy but did send out a nine-minute clip for my inspection.
MY SAY Of tonight's two Fox dating shows, this one appears to be the better bet -- which is not exactly a resounding endorsement (see "The Choice" review above). But at least "Take Me Out" has plenty of energy and camp; you can even picture (I did) viewers hooting at their TV set, or maybe throwing a half-eaten hot dog at it. That's called "engagement," and "engagement" is usually a good thing in TV. Usually. In the clip, Lopez cracks a few groaners -- "will it be lust or bust?" -- but that appears to be part of "Take Me Out's" cheesy charm.

The only good things about The George Lopez Show were his mom, and his Cuban Father-In-Law, and the wife was pretty hot as well.
From “Family Guy”:
Meg: I wanna watch George Lopez!
Chris: That show only perpetuates the stereotype that George Lopez is funny.
Another George Lopez show I’ll never see.
And people watch this stuff, too.
On the rare occasions I see commercial television, I’m always interested in what is being advertised. I watched an episode of “Bridezillas” while at my parents’ house recently, and the ads were for fast food (it was approaching lunchtime), weight-loss products, and law firms trolling for class-action suits against the manufacturers of the most popular birth control pills.
Politics aside, Lopez is another one of those guys that you wonder “Why is he famous? He has absolutely no talent”.
glopez is a MUST CHANGE THE CHANNEL or turn off TV personality. He is unwatchable.
Ah, yes. Another one of those Hollywood scumbags who called Palin a bitch. Lopez can go choke on his lunch and die.
Lopez’ sitcom was entertaining, but he became increasingly partisan over time and his tolerability index dropped accordingly.
Now, he’s just an obnoxious a**hole.
Because he had a good supporting cast, George was the weak link in that show.
He has no reason for that head of his to be so big.. yet it is.
Lopez is like Margaret Cho.. utterly unfunny, but given a stage because of his ethnicity, and others of their background flock to them to prop them up just because he “looks like them”.
I haven’t watched him since his HBO show in San Antonio, TX a few years ago. He bad mouthed gringos and was insulting to Texas. I’ll pass on his new show.
I didn’t care for his sitcom, but then, I care for very few sitcoms.
It obviously ran for a while so it had a following, but I have never found this man remotely funny.
Now I understand humor is subjective, but there are some comedians that I just do not find funny at all, and not because of their political ideology, because usually I have no idea what it is, they just aren’t funny.
Lopez, Cho, and that gay contestant “Ant” or whatever that was on last comic standing a while ago.. I count among these, but they are not the only ones.
Would love to see him in person and call him George Zimmerman.
Two strikes like that and your out!
He is an unfunny, angry, mexican supremacist. I do not understand his anger at a country and a people who have made him wealthy far beyond his worth as a entertainer and far far far beyond his worth as a human being. I refuse to watch anything he is in or voices. A growing list of celebrity a holes. Hey hollyweird, shut up and entertain.
