Mitt Romney called President Barack Obama's handling of the economy a "moral failure of tragic proportions," suggesting he's failed the American people by enacting policies that have been "muddled, confused and simply ineffective."
Speaking at a campaign event in St. Louis, the Republican nominee said it is "painfully obvious" that Obama was "inexperienced" and "simply not up to the task" of leading the country out of this "great economic crisis."
"We have waited, and waited and waited for recovery, and enough time has passed to pronounce judgment on the economic policies of this administration: They have not worked," Romney told supporters at a campaign event in St. Louis. "Your government has failed you."
The Republican nominee accused Obama of being unfriendly to "free enterprise" and said his administration has failed to deliver on its chief commitment to the country: helping "every American help themselves."
"I do not believe this has been done with evil intent or ill will," Romney noted. "But for a family watching their house being sold at foreclosure, or the family that is forced to spend their kid's college savings just to make ends meet,

Romney paints his own fence?!?
Actually, he tricked Gingrich, Santorum, Bachmann, and Perry into painting the fence for him. They fought a lot, and ended up covered in paint, but he ended up with the painted fence.
Ron Paul showed up and bitched about why he needed a fence in the first place. Something about "Don't piss off your neighbors, and you won't need a fence."
You appear to have the wrong title, or the wrong body of article here...
it’s Yahoo reporting I expect crap
Romney buys in California at all, because....?
Romney buys on a narrow path street, with houses crammed together wall to wall, because....?
Romney buys in a progressive neighborhood full of progressives and gays and pot smokers because.....?
This Romney guy has to be a genius, AND, we’re geniuses for supporting this guy. He’s just the sort of guy Republicans would want at the top of their now socialist sharing ticket.
Congratulations to us!
Based on this article, I don’t like Mr. Romney’s neighbors.
That's understandable same when the Obama's go to Martha's Vineyard or when the president of any party is in the 'neighbor' hood, traffic is stopped, roads closed etc. until he is back in the caravan leaving town.
To claim the presidency, Mitt Romney is faced with the challenge of winning over voters who may have supported President Barack Obama four years ago, especially independents in key swing states. But it's making nice with the people in his own backyard, literally, that could prove to be the most problematic for the Republican nominee.
The New York Times' Michael Barbaro takes a deep dive into Romney's relationshipor lack thereofwith the people who live near him in La Jolla, Calif., where presidential politics is coloring a debate over the candidate's plans to quadruple the size of his vacation home there.
But that's not the only complaint people in this wealthy beach enclave have about Romney. Some neighbors complain about Romney's new presidential entourageincluding dozens of Secret Service agents who now guard the candidate 24 hours a dayand its effect on their quiet street.
Yet most of the angst about Romney seems to be driven by disagreement with the candidate's politics. At least six homes near Romney's house are owned by gay couples, including the home four doors up the street where the couple are trying to organize a fundraiser at their home for Obama because of his support of same sex marriage.
According to Barbaro, many people on Romney's street were surprised that Romney chose to move into a "progressive" neighborhood, as one neighbor puts it. Adding to the tensions, the candidate, who was spotted painting his fence a few weekends ago, rarely engages with his neighbors,
Funny, very funny!
Hmmm....
Let’s see -
Should we go with the racist, socialist guy who grew up in foreign countries attending muslim scholls, hides all his personal ID information and records, who spends money we don’t have like a truckload of doped up democrats, who has driven us into near bankruptcy, who is intent on bringing the USA down to the level of a third world country and who has turned our own Justice Dept. and Homeland Security Dept. against American citizens?
Or do we go with a regular American guy who paints his own fence?
Of course Romney paints his own fence. He may even operate the roto-rooter! You can never tell where you have enemies eh.
Due to population density, this problem gets multiplied exponentially when he visited Manhattan, usually for fundraising, sometimes to visit the UN, sometimes for "date night" with Michelle. In 3+ years, he has been her a dozen times. When Bush came (rarely), the traffic catastrophies were front page news.
Glad you caught that, too. I thought I was having a Journalism 101 ‘comprehensional relationship’ problem (whatever that means).
And here I was thinking that Journalism 101 had something to do with “From each according to his means to each according to his needs...”
You go too far when you try to describe Romney as "a regular American guy", and we do know that he prefers illegal Guatemalans to do his gardening.
It took TWO national scandals to force him to end his 11 year use of them.
the title should be “Romneys gay pot smoking neighbors don’t like him”
Even if you believe all the bad things said about Romney, the difference between voting for Romney or voting for Obama is the difference between hitting the wall at 20 mph or 90.
The previous owner of that house was the actor Cliff Robertson. He lived there from 1963 until he died a few years ago. I think Robertson used the money he made from playing the role of JFK in PT109 to buy the house.
Back in the mid-60s, it wasn’t into the toilet yet. “Who, what, where, when and why” actually meant something, believe it or don’t.
