Music, like goodness, should be its own reward.
FM became total crap after Welch left.
Hmmmm, my earlier comment about your idiocy was right on the money after all.
A hall of fame should honor only the very best who changed the face of music. It should not include every successful act.
Boston? Foreigner? Pantera? UFO? Styx? Vanilla Fudge? Winger? The Melvins? If everybody is in the hall of fame, it’s not a hall of fame.
There are a few on your list that deserve consideration, but not that many. Two or three artists per year should be the maximum. How many new, original, history changing acts happen each year? I submit that most years it isn’t even one.
Kiln House was the only FM album I ever bought .
Aw, you’re just thinking of the ‘80’s. We all knew Katrina and the Waves sucked. Lost decade.
If there ever was a band with a big name, long lasting success and no signature sound whatsoever, it was Fleetwood Mac.
rap is not art. It is pure devil music
IMO, they were already fading away when Lindsey and Stevie arrived and the Fleetwood Mac that we all know and love was born.
FYI, George Harrisons' and Mick's wives were sisters. The Boyd girls...Harrison's wife (Pattie) is who Eric Clapton was singing about in Layla...Pattie eventually married Eric.
(She is the former wife of musicians George Harrison and Eric Clapton, and claims that she was the inspiration for songs written by both musicians: Harrison's "Something", "I Need You", "For You Blue" and "Isn't It a Pity", and Clapton's "Layla", "Wonderful Tonight" and "Bell Bottom Blues".)
IIRC Welch was in the band from like 1970 to 74. he wasn’t an original member. I don’t know when they opened for Zappa.
It's been a joke from the beginning, even worse than "The Grammys". The one time I visited the place, about 10 years ago, I noticed they had a "Rob" Argent display. Pathetic.
I once saw a list of acts that were "enshrined" on the "hip hop" side of this "hall of fame" and never heard of half of them. Now, I can't say I'm a big fan of rap and hip hop - - I prefer music - - but either I'm really, really out of the loop, or the people who determine the candidates have an agenda more considerate of political correctness than talent and longevity.
Roxy Music is on the list.
That was my point.
Hadn’t heard that song in decades (Hypnotized).
Wow. Excellent work Bob. Hope things are better on the other side.
:-( I loved his song “Sentimental Lady” when I was a kid. Hearing it always takes me back in time.
you are being deliberately obtuse.
of course, I was just spelling it out
