As long as the Saudis want PR massacres, you’ll see more and more of them. The insurgents infiltrating Syria want all the press they can get.. While I view anything the Russian media puts out as suspect. On this issue they’re correct.
Assad isn’t perfect by any means. Still there was relative stability in the country before the Saudis started pushing the Arab Spring while putting down the same “spring” in Bahrain. I don’t see the UN getting involved there.
The best choice is for the world not to get involved in proxy wars on behalf on Iran and the Saudis. As a consolation prize, not getting involved will mean the Christian communities won’t be harmed.
Very good points. Syria is the last refuge for Christians in the Middle East.
That is one reason why it is under attack.
Moreover, the Syrian govt, like any govt, has the right to put down an armed rebellion. To say otherwise, is to create a most dangerous precedent.
