Wisconsin shadow hangs over Netroots
By CHARLES MAHTESIAN | 6/10/12 7:08 AM EDT

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Last year, the liberal Netroots unleashed their ire on President Barack Obama for short-shrifting the progressive causes they thought he’d champion in the White House. This year, they had a more pressing matter on their minds: a fear that Republicans, backed by the boatloads of cash that helped Scott Walker win in Wisconsin, could make even more gains up and down the ticket — and perhaps even beat Obama in November.

There wasn’t any time or appetite for airing the left’s frustrations with the president. Instead, the conversation at the three-day conference centered around the recent Wisconsin recall election — and what it means for November.

**SNIP**

“At first, we hated each other. We looked at them as dinosaurs and asked, ‘What have they done lately?’ They looked at us as dorks with computers and asked, ‘What are they going to do, hit George W. Bush over the head with a laptop?’” explained Moulitsas. “Not only has that animosity disappeared, but the lines have blurred…A loss for labor is a loss for the Netroots.”

They had the house for a time, but lost it. And the Senate has been teetering for a long time. So they gave the White House to the guy who does nothing (see senate career) and then complain when...he does nothing. Now they give lots of cash to the guy who does nothing so he can do nothing in November.

It’s so inspiring.

He is gathering money from idiots, but there aren’t enough idiots this time around to elect him.

Most people se their mistake whether they will admit it or not, they may not vote for Romney, but they won’t vote for Obama.

leftist ‘Netroots’ conference - there is nothing liberal about these folks except a desire to have liberal doses of control over our lives.

Netroots Nation used to be called “Yearly Kos”, as it was an annual meeting of the “Daily Kos” crowd. They might have us believe that they are a gathering of all “netroots” internet blogger types, of all political persuasions. But, it’s just the Daily Kos crowd under a different name.

And the Daily Kos crowd would be p*ssed off about something, no matter how liberal a president or Congress they have.

Why are liberals as a group so angry all the time?

And by contrast, why was Ronald Reagan freqently cheerful and optimistic about our future?

I know it over simplifies things to say that liberals are angry and pessimistic, while conservatives are optimistic. But like many stereotypes, this one seems to have some basis in fact.

And yet ask a liberal what they think of conservatives, you’ll hear things like “mean” and “angry” and ranging right up to “genocidal.”

It is of use to note that the #1 psychological trait exhibited by liberals is “projection.” Anything that they accuse of their perceived enemy is primarily an insight as to what actually goes on in their numbed skulls. It’s a defense mechanism in trying to reconcile the facts of the Real World with their ideology.
