Obama critics have it wrong - fundraising a must
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 6/10/12 | Willie Brown

Posted on 06/10/2012 8:45:54 AM PDT by SmithL

People are criticizing President Obama for his endless fundraising.

They are wrong. He's got to do that if he's going to win.

And it's not just big donors he needs. He's got to get $10 checks from maids and chauffeurs and gardeners and everybody else in the world, like he did the first time around.

This is going to be a billion-dollar campaign, and Obama is going to be outspent no matter what he does - by an order of 2 to 1, at least.

Somewhere along the line, however, the Republicans are going to figure out they're not going to beat him. At that point, they will shift the money into the congressional races.

"Beat Obama" will be the GOP rallying cry, but the real play will be to hold onto the Republican majority in the House and grab the Senate from the Democrats.

I took a lot of heat a couple of weeks ago for saying the Obama campaign had lost its mojo, that he wasn't connecting with the locals.

Did you notice who was on the bill with him last week when he came back to the Bay Area? Gov. Jerry Brown, Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom and Mayor Ed Lee.

Looks like they're getting with the program.

. . .
Sen. Dianne Feinstein got only 49 percent of the vote in Tuesday's primary against a field of 23 political also-rans.

As her campaign co-chair, I must say she deserves better.

Not that there's any question she'll be re-elected. The era of big-buck corporate types deciding it would be fun to run for office appears to be ending, and there's no way an Elizabeth Emken is going to produce as tough a challenge as someone like Carly Fiorina.

Ah, thanks to the lib rags, I understand.

Fundraising by libs - good.

Fundraising by conservatives - bad.

It’s so simple, even an Obamadork can understand it.

Not to mention the fact that he has been told by his backers that he HAS to win or face serious consequences. (Loose his status among the celebrity crowd)

In the past I have tried to post an article here from some site which, for reasons unclear to me, is banned by FR. Maybe it was the Huffington Post - I don’t remember now.
Yet tripe like this is allowed as if it has some importance. Who in their right mind gives a sheet what Willie Brown thinks of anything?
Sometimes I wonder about this place.

Let the flim-flam man campaign all he wants, so long as it is on his own dime, and the goodies he gives away are out of his own pocket, but that isn’t going to happen. This jive time shuckster knows presidential privilege better than all the presidents before him, because he has a deeply contemplated view of the public dole and social justice. In his perverted, half-witted brain he thinks we owe him, and all of his extravagance is getting even for injustices suffered by blacks and other minorities. So let him campaign, and let him spend the money he gets from campaigning, from all those dollars welfare recipients scrape together to donate. Let him benefit from all his redistributing of other people’s money, because revenues from his two fictional biographies won’t win this for him. Obama is going to lose.

What's weird is I've been getting stuff from the DNC and even Michelle. They must be desperate. I wouldn’t give a bag of doggy poop to a democrat. Only thing I can figure is my hubby was on unemployment for a bit. Also got two letters pushing the Obamaphone.

"He's got to do that if he's going to win."

What Willie is saying is that Obama needs to raise as much money as he can so he can buy votes.

"They must be desperate."

He's desperate alright. He's already told his fellow Demoncrats that they won't be getting any money from him for their campaigns this time around. All his fundraising must not be going very well.

You may or may not agree with Willie Brown on any issue, but you disregard him at your peril. He is very tuned in to politics in the so-called Golden State.

California Republicans have always taken Willie seriously. Seriously enough that he is the reason that California has term limits.

Someone is getting paid to be President, fund raise, deny anything is wrong with the economy, play golf and go on vacation.

She got 49% of the vote and “she deserves better”? This is the mind of a liberal. This is what we’re up against. You can’t change these people.

I don’t expect the kenyan to lose no matter how the fundraising turns out. The Left (Pelosi)sold the voting machines and the Left (Soros) will count the votes from those machines out of sight of America(Spain).
