SUDDENLY, MANY WAYS FOR ROMNEY TO REACH 270 ELECTORAL VOTES
Big Government ^ | June 10, 2012 | by JOEL B. POLLAK

The Obama campaign wants to make the 2012 contest a “choice” between its candidate and the Republican party; the Romney campaign wants to make the vote a referendum on Barack Obama. Mitt Romney is laying low, letting the election revolve around Obama--and winning. While his campaign pushes back against Obama and the mainstream media, Romney is shaking hands on the trail--and winning support in key swing states.

At the outset, Romney’s path to victory seemed a narrow one. It was universally agreed that the 2012 contest would be fought in roughly ten swing states. But Obama’s weak economic performance, and Romney’s quietly effective campaign, has narrowed the field of play. It is now reasonable to imagine that Romney will win in North Carolina and Florida--two states that Obama won in 2008 and that he will likely lose this time around.

Sometimes I wonder. I am surprised by the number of Romney fans here.
I try to understand, though. I realize many are wandering aimlessly in a maze of fear.

Trust God.

You know, for a recent person you sure spend a lot of time posting for an alternate theory.

How about you let that go, and post about other things? After all, you’ve only been here a few months.

We have an election to run.

Thanks.

Have you accidentally taken my words out of context? I recall adding another sentence to my comment.

Look again and see what I mean.

The Breitbart piece assumes that Romney wins Colorado.

I don’t see this as a given. It may be possible, but I sense that Colorado is going to be a “difficult win” for Republicans from now on. Same as New Mexico, which has pretty much “tipped” to the blue side.

My own predictions on how the electoral votes will go is here:

This is gonna be a close one.

I read your entire comment. As I understand it, your contention is that voting for Hoefling is the only way you can "win".

Which begs the question I asked: Win...what?

Re: I just hope that after Romney loses,

If Romney loses there may not be enough of the United States to salvage that is if there even will be an election in 2016

Okay, I get your drift. I assure you, I want no part of being a Federal employee and I will refuse any position that a President Hoefling might offer. I’ve asked for nothing for my support.

And, I have no authority to offer you anything for your support other than my personal assurance that you will be doing the right thing. If you’re still interested, then “Welcome aboard!”

Please tell us who these mysterious Romney “fans” are.

Do you know of any FReepers who Voted for Romney in the Primaries? I don't know a one.

As far as the General Election goes, you have two choices, Obama or the Republican. I guess one man's “Fan” is another man's “Realist”.

Conclusion: unless 'President Romney' is a far worse political operator than 0bama himself, he will be essentially a lock for renomination in 2016, and anyone believing otherwise needs to put down the bong.

I agree. If Romney wins (and I believe he will), we are looking at 2020 before we have another chance to nominate a real conservative for the GOP for Romney will be our nominee in 2016 as well.

Let's face up to facts, we blew our chance to nominate a real conservative in 2012. For whatever reason, Sarah Palin blew her chance because had she run, she would have breezed to the nomination. Maybe in 2020, Palin will be ready to run. She'll only be 56 at that time - still plenty young enough to serve two strong terms.

So our only real option at this time is to hope Romney outperforms expectations. Maybe he'll surprise us.

You talk too much for a FNoobG. Take a break, be quiet, listen, and get some smarts. Wiser FR heads are trying trying to address a tough problem and time is running short. Come back when you wake up.

Rommney is pulling ahead in both North Carolina and Florida, which Obama won by very small margins in 2008. In Ohio, where McCain ran ahead of his national share of the vote, Obama is running no better than even. Now, there are polls which amazingly show that Romney has pulled even in Michigan, though I’d still give Obama a leg up there.

IMHO, the most important state electorally will be Pennsylvania. Virginia, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, Iowa, Colorado, and Nevada are where the election will be decided.

Thanks, K C. You nail it down perfectly.

It’s frustrating and impossible to rationalize with some people.

For those that think that another four years of Obama will result in a 2016 Conservative resurgence that will reverse the damage that two or three Libtard SCOTUS Appointments will cause for Generations to come, I can only say this:

Wish in one hand and spit in the other and see which one fills up first. That comes for a Retired Navy Chief that used to work for me.

Many, who do you think all of us dedicated anti-Romney people were arguing with for the last 6 years?

Although zottings only involve a tiny percentage of a group, you had to have noticed the Romney fan bannings.

If you have some names, please share. I bet another FReeper a Dollar to a Donut that there weren't any. I pay my debts, but I have yet to receive the Chocolate Covered Jelly Donut he still owes me unless you prove me wrong.

Yep, there won’t be much left in 2016.

My God, can’t people see how utterly evil to the core this bastard is?

But, as any of the Founders would agree with, it is your right to flush your vote down whatever toilet you see fit. We are, after all, the Land of the Free. (That is, until Obamugabe gets a second term.)

The GOP-e should have thought of that before they began their fraudulent primary process, now shouldn't they?

Now you just go right ahead and dive into the harbor and save as much of that tea as you can, good citizen.

Unlike you, some of us refuse to play the political game of Three Card Monte, and know exactly how to deal with an overreaching Kenyan thug and when push comes to shove, we will.

Just like our Founders did.
