This is a follow-up to this article posted in April:

Now Johnson is filing a federal lawsuit against the Board, claiming it can’t banish First Amendment free speech rights to a 10′ x 10′ square off the beaten path, especially during a major public event in which organizers have a non-exclusive permit to use the park.

This is normally a story out of the UK, not the US. Liberal incrementalism at work again...

Since we're talking Minneapolis, I'm sure Keith Ellison is already on it.

Could he pass out free copies of the Koran at a Christian rally?

organizers have a non-exclusive permit to use the park.

That's the money-shot right there. If the park is open to the public, government has no business judging the content of someone's free-speech. Eventually the USSC is going to boot this ruling to the moon.

...gay pride fest

As I've asked repeatedy, and will continue to ask, what exactly do they have to be proud of?

Proposed bumper sticker, if you want your car trashed:
HOMOSEXUAL. Because there's nothing GAY about it!

In a PUBLIC place, that is reserved for a NON-EXCLUSIVE meeting of Christians, I fail to see how he would be prohibited from passing out anything at all. Koran, Buddhist, Wiccan or Athiest.

We asked that same question to a Gay man we know. We said that if we saw a group of Gay men, wearing suits, or a group of Lesbians in business attire, all clean and neat - walking with a Gay Pride sign - we could respect them.

However, what we see is an outlandish caricature of “Pride” as one could have. When you behave like a circus with drunken “faries” (complete with pink wings) prancing about - you become a laughing stock, a parody of what you are attempting to achieve.

He had to agree.

What is sad is that there are not entire churches of people who are willing to, on their own, simply walk into that public park as is their right, and while walking through that public park, offer bibles to every person they pass by, as is also their right.

Let the judge try to imprison a million Christians. But apparently, we don’t have any who are free, just this one man.

We need to stop asking permission, and move in force to exercise our rights and responsibilities.

Would the judge then agree to ban display of gay signs or gay literature at a Christian event?

These are the freaks who insist on being married in the eyes of the church yet they do not want the Bible near them. Their demands on the clergy are done out of spite.

I wonder how open carry of a pink pistol with a rainbow triangle would go over?

that would leave them dazed and (even more) confused!

if this man wanted to hand out condoms and books teaching children its ok to be queer, this sin-loving judge would be the first one out there helping pass them out.

When Lot and his family were delivered from Sodom, they were not called upon to preach to or attempt top save the Sodomites. They were commanded to LEAVE and NOT look back.

Sometimes it just has to be that way.

However, on Constitutional Grounds, this man has EVERY RIGHT to pass out literature on public property. So, although his desire to pass out Bibles at a “Gay Pride” event is on shaky ground Scripturally, it is his Constitutional Right.

Anyway, just my humble opinion.
