I think you’re going to see a 1-2 punch of superpac/GOP working for Romney and grassroots conservatives/tea partiers working for conservatives in the down-ticket races.
Look @ my post the past couple of months, I have been smelling the momentum, predicted 60 in the Senate before Dick Morris did and I think it is gonna be a wipe-out like we have never seen. The "down-ticket" you mentioned will be huge IMHO all the way to dog catchers with Tea Party cred.
It will take them Dem's 20 years to recover.
The State to watch, ( and I have been saying it since Oct 10' ) is Michigan.
I was always a Sarah supporter - devastating when she announced she was not running.
Then i jumped to Newtster - easily the strongest and most intelligent conservative running with an actual record of BIG CHANGE in DC.
Muttster was at the bottom of my list.
That said, America and our Constitution cannot survive if Comrade B.Hussein Obamugabe wins in Nov.
