I have a friend that went to China to open a new corporate office. Well, after the office opened and they were increasing staff, the could not figure out why the toilets were always such a mess. Eventually, they found out that the folks that they hired were from very rural areas and usually squatted over holes, so they would stand on the toilet and squat. Just like in your picture.

They had to hold an “official corporate trianing event” to demonstrate the proper use of the toilet! Every time I see that pic you posted it puts the vision in my head of my friend trying to teach other adults how to use a toilet!
