If we don’t take the Constitution seriously, we will be slaves.

150 years ago, a man from Illinois was elected President. He divided the country with a war, trashed the Constitution and freed the slaves.

Today we have a President from Illinois who wants a war to divide us, trashes the Constitution and wants to make slaves of us all.

I’d love to see a detailed list of the times Obama has ignored the US Constitution starting from his failure to provide proof of eligibility up to now with his Amnesty program.

I feel very much like a slave or a serf. The lords live in their castles up on the hills and I labor in the fields on their behalf. I have few rights or personal freedom. Much of my labor is stolen from me. This is much worse than what caused our Founding Fathers to rebel in 1775 -- yet we do nothing.

The cure for slavery is to take the Constitution seriously. But that would be an extremist position these days.

Let's fix that.

I think you meant "A man from Mississippi was appointed President, divided the country with a war, trashed the Constitution, and couldn't prevent the slaves being freed."

Why you want to lead off discussion with something about half your audience would strongly object to is a mystery. Is putting down Lincoln and titillating a few Confederate die-hards worth antagonizing most of the country.

Is ironic that the first Black President made slaves of us all.
