The GOPe seems flummoxed by Bamster's move. If they'd just stand up for (existing immigration) laws, it could be a slam dunk. That's asking too much, I guess.
The Dream Act was defeated. We (those of us who were against it) worked hard to defeat it. With all of Romney's faults (and there are many) he did not have a monopoly on "Immigration Reform" and a desire to fix it and get the illegals on 'the right track to citizenship".
There were only two candidates who scored high with conservatives on this issue, Michelle Bachmann (who accepted Obama's first short form BC as legit) and Herman Cain.
As for Obama's power grab, the ball is now in Boehner's lap. He is our elected official and the phone calls should be going to him. Don't hold your breath.

I thought it was jolting enough to get some play, not vanish. However, so many democrats approve of Romney over Obama, maybe they thought it didn’t do him any favors so they nuked the darn thing. I have no explanation.

Gloria Borger has nailed Romney. Romney is stuck with criticising Obama for his method on immigration, while avoiding the substance itself, which he sent Rubio out to collect on his fishing expedition on the subject this week.
We will watch the flames over method and watch Romney get to tap dance on that and never hear that he is FOR this amnesty business.
