My opinion is that the drug trade represents one of two massive pools of reserve currency that allow the Fed to keep printing without a response from the CPI. The other is oil.

Consider that when Saddam Hussein announced that he was shifting to the Euro, we went to war in Iraq. There was no other specific event (such as direct involvement in 9-11) that suddenly justified that particular action. Although Saddam was producing (particularly biological) WMD, the timing just does not fly.
