Not terribly long ago — and before the Sandusky story broke — Ohio State was embroiled in a comparatively modest scandal dubbed Tattoogate.
At the time, Penn State partisans were among the most sanctimonious of the critics slamming The Ohio State University and its athletic program. Penn Staters took the opportunity to contrast their “morally unassailable” football organization with that of the “disgraced” Buckeyes.
If nothing else, I hope the Sandusky scandal instills some much needed humility in Happy Valley.
That’s my hope. But I’m not particularly optimistic.

If nothing else, I hope the Sandusky scandal instills some much needed humility in Happy Valley...

...based on past observances, it appears that the ‘We Are Penn St.” bunch is oblivious that a word such as humility even exists...
