New Film to Claim Jesus Was Born After Mary Was Raped By Roman Soldier

It's taken over four years for film director Paul Verhoeven to get anyone to turn his 2008 book "Jesus of Nazareth" into a movie, but numerous sources last week say he's finally done it.

Deadline reported last Tuesday that Muse Productions will produce the film claiming Jesus Christ was the product of Mary being raped by a Roman soldier:

Jesus might have been the product of his mother being raped by a Roman soldier, which Verhoeven said was commonplace at the time, and that Jesus was a radical prophet who performed exorcisms and was convinced he would find the kingdom of Heaven on earth, and did not know he would be sentenced to die on the cross by Pontius Pilate. That, and the discounting of the miracles that pepper the New Testament, has made this a daunting project to set up.

Those not familiar with his name certainly will recognize some of Verhoeven's directorial hits including "Robocop," "Total Recall," and "Basic Instinct."

Roger Avary, who won an Oscar for co-writing 1994's "Pulp Fiction," has been tapped to adapt the book into a screenplay.

Indiewire noted Wednesday:

[T]he adaptation will depict Jesus in a more human light, hence the reason the miracles and the resurrection are being stripped from the story. Instead, Jesus will be portrayed as an ethicist and a radical prophet, whose message became too politically strong for the Romans to idly accept and endure. While that version may not seem blasphemous to Verhoeven, it more than likely is for many.

Given President Obama's recent "evolution," one has to wonder if the producers will figure out a way to implicitly or explicitly accuse Jesus of also being homosexual.

That's got to be next, right?

No, no, no!

Although I can see how the ignorant could have gotten it confused.

Verhoeven, your backers are going to take a bath.

Hopefully not in a lake of fire.

"did not know he would be sentenced to die"

That's odd, I know exactly when, where and how I am going to die. /s

Gee.
I wonder why this brave hollywood type didn't instead invent a similar incident in mohatmutts life.

Did mohatmutt even have a mother?

Hang on.

This just in...
There is a persistent rumor that this extravagant epic is actually about mohatmutt's life, but it is being kept under wraps for now in deference to an enhanced likelihood of Paul Verhoeven attaining an additional birthday.

Fatwahs and going all koranimal on him is very much on the horizon.

MANDY
Well, I suppose I should have told you a long time ago, but... Well, Brian... your father isn’t Mr. Cohen.

BRIAN
I never thought he was!

MANDY
Now none of your cheek. He was a Roman, Brian. He was a centurion in the Roman army.

BRIAN
You mean... you were raped?

MANDY
Well, at first, yes.

BRIAN
Who was he?

MANDY
Heh. Nortius Maximus his name was. Hmm. Promised me the known world he did. I was to be taken to Rome, house by the Forum, slaves, asses’ milk. As much gold as I could eat. Then, he, having his way with me had... voom! Like a rat out of an aqueduct.

BRIAN
The bastard.

MANDY
Yeah. So next time you go on about the bloody Romans, don’t forget you’re one of them!

Whatever, I'm waiting for the movie on Mohammed that shows that he was an epileptic suffering from seizures. In the meantime, I think I'll wait for glaciers to reach Florida.

BTW, I actually did like "The Last Temptation of Christ", even though I know it was technically blasphemous.

Will someone be making a film about Muhammed raping little boys, girls and farm animals, going insane and then subsequently succumbing to his venereal disease?

I am not one for burning books however in this case, Verhoeven tied to a stake with all his books and copies of his film piled around his feet being set on fire would earn my approval.

It certainly is outrageous, and rather silly. The writers are assuming that Jesus and his followers were liars, but that except for a nearly compulsive level of dishonesty on His mission, they were miraculously good people. That takes a much bigger suspension of disbelief that simply accepting that the Creator of heaven and earth chose to save our souls in a manner that still resonates 2,000 years later.

More people to add to my personal boycott list. It’s so refreshing to see liberals be respectful of other people’s cultures, isn’t it? The funny part is that these horrid people may not need to fear anything from Christians, but Muslims think of Jesus as a prophet, and may not take too kindly to this movie either. I hope these people have some good life insurance for their families’ sake. Fireworks at 11:00!

Wow...these people who choose to not only denounce God and Godly things, but to manipulate, mock and turn everything Godly on it’s head....I (almost) feel sorry for them.

I certainly would not want to be in there shoes, IF they ever stand at the pearly gates (assuming they don’t go straight to the black, stinking, rotting, empty, fire burning depths of hell)....
