Exhaustion is a rich person’s disease. An ordinary person can’t come into a hospital and say “give me a bed; I’m exhausted.”

Reminds me of an anecdote:

It was the 1960s. My mother was going through a rough time, personally. She went to the doctor, a long time family friend. He told her to slow down a bit, take some naps and just get more rest.

“But, when Francis had the same problem, you told her to take a vacation!”

“Can you afford a vacation?”

Since the answer was, as the doc knew, ‘no’, mom began to take naps.
