A pre-feasibility study for the Bokan Mountain rare earths mine has been delayed after significant new findings at the prospect on Prince of Wales Island. Bokan Mountain, the rocky peak at above right, is the largest U.S. deposit of valuable rare earth minerals. The deposit is located where Dodson Ridge, at above left, runs down toward Kendrick Bay.

Obama and the enviros will put a stop to that.
Now you’ve let the cat out of the bag,. Look for Obama and his crew to “set aside” these lands and bar them from development.

dykes at Bokan Mountain? - is this the lesbian based sequel to Brokeback Mountain? ;>)
Seriously though, this project seems to be flying under the radar of the envirowackos because when I Google it I don’t see any of the usual left wing whining about mining it.
I wonder if they are hiring. What a beautiful place to work. A friend of mine worked exploration geology in SE Alaska one summer off a boat. He would fly out to the mountains in a helicopter off the boat and return in the evening to a fresh seafood dinner caught by the cook during the day. yum
