Stop making the machines in China.
And I’ll be impressed.
Apple isn't alone, most manufacturers are having their components built in China. It's a overtaxed and over-regulation problem. Kudos to Apple for at least building some infrastructure here in the states, like North Carolina, Texas, Nevada and Oregon. As well as in California where they're building a huge new campus, only because that's where they have roots.
I just flew back from Austin, Texas where they build the A5 CPU for their IOS devices.
Tell that to the component manufacturers - they are made in China. Apple doesn’t make hard drives, circuit boards, capacitors, memory, etc. Component makers do - if they were made here, then it would make a lot more sense to assemble Apple computers here in the USA.
But with unions, taxes, Obamanomics, etc. - a machine that currently costs $1199 would cost $6,999! (in other words - the component costs would be more than the current retail price).
