I am reading through the decision now. Here is a remarkable quote from the decision (page 6)
“Those decisions are entrusted to our Nations elected leaders, who can be thrown out of office if the people disagree with them. It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices.”

Those decisions are entrusted to our Nations elected leaders, who can be thrown out of office if the people disagree with them. It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices.
```````````````````````
So true, but too nuanced to be understood by the majority of voters.
Would have been better to say “
it is struck down, and only if congress chooses to implement this as a tax it is able to be implemented “
Those decisions are entrusted to our Nations elected leaders, who can be thrown out of office if the people disagree with them. It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices.
Going by this logic, why the hell do we need a Supreme Court? What the hell, if elected leaders violate our Constitutional rights our only redress is through the ballot box. Of course once they take the ballot box away or invalidate our votes (through illegal immigration for instance), we effectively have no redress!
