Sobering honesty. Civilization is on the fast track to being obsolete. Pretty soon the country will not be able to continue feeding our overlords. What do you think will happen then? History repeats itself.
Personally I believe Americans will continue to make sacrifices of all that is good and just. Folks are not nearly as happy as they once were but they are not ready to defend themselves or their country. It will be too late when there is no other choice left.
as a tax the mandate can be thrown out with reconciliation.
1. A new president
2. A majority congress
3. 50 senators
+ no commerce clause forcing to buy broccoli
Ben Shapiro makes a good case that today’s decision proves once and for all that politicians and even the Supreme Court cannot save us if we ignore reality and keep nominating and voting for people who then ignore the constitution and lie while they pander to an endless line of ‘special interest’ groups, from gays to ‘women’ to unions and on and on. I believe the August GOP convention in Tampa may bring some surprising results, including a repudiation of Mitt Romney, the ‘establishment’ candidate that originated the basis for Obamacare. Of course, I could be wrong and we’ll just plod along as usual, right up until our freedoms, economic and social, are gone.
Let us take score. Arizona must submit to an invasion of illegal aliens. The government can force you into a legal contract by virtue of existing. You can impersonate a member of the armed forces with impunity. If you feel you woke up in a world where Spock has a beard, you’re right.
"The once-happy and peaceful plains of America are either to be drenched in blood or inhabited by slaves. Sad alternative! But can a virtuous man hesitate in his choice?"- George Washington, 1775, after the Battle of Lexington and Concord
I like Ben a lot more when he is going for the throat rather than trying to be clever.
Go for the throat, go for the heart but first go for the testicles.
Yes and no. Ultimately, the people do need to take a stand. The problem is that, at this point, it is beyond a Election 2012 issue. The beauty in our Constitution was (yes, I guess that would be the correct tense of the verb) that it limited government. CJ Roberts was correct when he states in the decision: "the Federal Government is a government of limited and enumerated powers. The problem is that he forgets that even a democratically elected government is limited. The ideas of a split legislature and electoral college were put in place by the founders so as to prevent the tyranny of the majority. That is why CJ Roberts was so wrong when he concludes: It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices. But, it was his job to uphold the Constitution even if it meant not bowing to a popularly elected Congress or President. Instead of upholding the Constitution he deferred to Congress and said it was up to the will of the people. But, the Constitution was there to limit the reach of the government even when it was acting on the will of the people. Whether Election 2012 changes the political choices and will of the people does not matter, the Constitution and its limitation on government, even popularly elected government, is dead.
It should be interesting to see how many elites show up on the battlefield. I bet none. We’ll need to hunt through swamps, turn over rocks and rip out boards to find these cockroaches.
Did these morons actually think that fat welfare mommas, lazy SEIU pigs and black pamper cowards would sacrifice themselves so they could live high off the hog?
