You may have more faith in the Republican Party than I do. I see no future for us in that repulsive party.

I do understand your approach here, though. Perhaps it would not be a bad idea to give the lowlifes one more chance to make things right. But I really doubt they will follow through.

Who is "they?"

Presuming the Republicans hold the House, the House will vote for repeal. In the Senate, we have probably a 50-50 chance of regaining control, and if we do, we will have a 1-3 vote margin. Harry Reid will lead a filibuster against repeal. We will be far short of the 60 votes needed.

So everything will depend on reconciliation. That can't be done on day 1. It will be tough to do at any time, but there's a fighting chance.

In any event, the great majority of Republicans in both the House and Senate will vote for repeal. If they fail, it will be because "we" didn't elect enough Republican senators. I don't think "they" are the problem.
