American history and a continuation of the connection of the people to the founders and the colonies populations of the incredible humans that created America and the whys and hows of it, is all important to preserving and maintaining America, understanding that concept is a part of the basic knowledge of a conservative.

I understand your sentiment, but beginning in November of 2008, whenever I am at a public gathering where the star spangled banner is sung or performed, I turn my back on the flag. Yes, it can be uncomfortable with all those people behind me looking at me. But what price freedom?
I realized today that I am like the Mel Gibson character in the movie “The Patriot”, before his son was killed. It is apparent to me that a lot of us are. But that moment will probably come for all of us, in its way. I hope and pray not, but I am a student of history. I know how things work out. And times may change, but people don’t.
