Top Line

ABC 'Nightline' anchor Terry Moran joined Top Line for a special edition dissecting the Supreme Court's decision on health care, a blockbuster ruling which upheld President Obama's signature piece of legislation. And the president and supporters of the law were not the only victors.

Chief Justice John "Roberts rode to the rescue of the Obama health care plan, and maybe rode to the rescue of the Supreme Court, as well," says Moran, who has been covering the Supreme Court for many years.

The justices have seen the esteem for the court diminish over these hyper partisan years. Since Bush v. Gore, polls show Americans feel less confident in the court. The court has no way to enforce its decisions except in the confidence of the people.

"The prestige of the court is the source of its authority," says Moran, "and justices can't be happy if [the court] is just another football in the political war."

Justice Roberts explained his vision of the Supreme Court during his 2005

That’s what today’s NYT editorial said, too, so Turncoat Robberts is the toast of the Leftists this morning.

To save the oppressive Supreme Court while destroying the freedom of the USA is treason.

So, saving a law passed with the support of only one party, against the will of the people, is non partisan. Glad we cleared that up.

Only among liberals who LOVE for judges to write legislation from the bench. Still stunned that Roberts feels it’s his job to find a way to make legislation (even if it’s unConstitutional) “work”. Not his job. Someone needs to refresh his memory.

Moran is a Moron. I now have the same amount of respect for Barry’s Supreme Court as I do for the Ku Klux Klan. To me, they are one and the same. Both are out there to screw over segments of Americans.

Roberts has shown himself to be an enemy of a free people and a slave master for despotic government.

The Supreme Court is now the laughing stock of any form of civilized logic and exposition.

Roberts flipped America the finger. I think he was blackmailed by the Filegate crowd who had unflattering info about him.

People who work in the news, Hollywood or the government have gone completely mad. Insanity rules this country and has for a long time.

Amazing the lengths one will go to justify really bad behavior in an attempt to escape judgement and consequences.

And yet NOBODY talked about or even expected Kagen, Ginsberg, and Sotomayer to “evolve” or “grow” by changing their position. No, Roberts saved the court. He “grew” in stature. The Liberals are not expected to consider anything other than lockstep alligiance to ideology.

We are not free. The Republic is lost.

I have a dream. Justices can be impeached. It has only happened once and it was for bias. Eight counts of it.

I have a dream that someday in some other life we are able to throw the bastards out. Literally and figuratively.

There have to be consequences for disloyalty and for treason.

I saved my clothes out of house fire once. Over the course of ensuing weeks, the clothes fell apart piece by piece. Even though I hadn’t seen the damage, smoke had destroyed them. My analogy for Robert’s “save”.

Let me see if I got this right. Justice Roberts called Obamacare now referred to as Obamatax, a TAX.....

Q. Didn’t Obamatax originate in the SENATE? I thought and was told by my High School teacher that “ALL” tax bills originate in the “House of Representatives”. But what do I know!

I hope Roberts doesn’t fall into the warm embrace of liberal acceptance.

The ACA was clear in what was a tax and what was a penalty. Roberts rewrote the legislation and legislated from the bench!

No the authority of the Supreme Court derives from the forbearance of the Executive Branch — and nothing more. What Justice Roberts might have feared is that Barry Soetero would simply ignore the Courts reversal of Obamacare and then the whole House of Cards collapses. The principal of Judicial Review is hanging by a thread with the Chicago gangster in the Whitehouse.

It has shown that the Justices are for themselves, the RINOS are for themselves and the progressives are for themselves-—this country and the Constitution be damned!

once again conservatives get the shaft on Supreme Court nominees!

How come liberals pick consistent liberals 100% of the time, but conservatives only pick consistent conservatives about 50% of the time.

My entire life the vast majority of the court has been ... REPUBLICAN picks!!! And yet time and time again over the years we end up with liberals in disguise while never ONCE has a Democrat appointee gone the other way!
