White House Statement on Obamacare Mandate Tax Contradicts Supreme Court Ruling By Matt Cover June 29, 2012 March, 7, 2011.

(CNSNews.com) – The White House said Friday that the Obamacare insurance mandate tax is a penalty for not having insurance – a statement that directly contradicts what the Supreme Court ruled Thursday.

According to press reports, White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters aboard Air Force One that the penalty was not a tax but a penalty.

“It's a penalty, because you have a choice. You don't have a choice to pay your taxes, right,” Carney is quoted as saying by Yahoo News.

In a 5-4 ruling issued just one day before, Chief Justice John Roberts stated that the mandate was not a penalty and was, in fact, a tax.

“The Affordable Care Act's requirement that certain individuals pay a financial penalty for not obtaining health insurance may reasonably be characterized as a tax,” Roberts wrote.

Roberts said that the mandate “makes going without insurance just another thing the government taxes, like buying gasoline or earning an income.”

Nevertheless, Carney said that it was not a “broad-based tax,” arguing that few Americans will pay it.

Yes they can, and will. And Carney’s statement that people have to pay their taxes just shows that either, how stupid he is or, how stupid he thinks Americans are. America gets the society and the leaders they deserve: free rampant sex, over 50% marriage failure rate, abortions, a ghetto mentality, anti-christian/Jew; and the list goes on. We as a nation, are morally bankrupt, and God has turned his back on us, He will not be mocked, and well he shouldn’t, we have become disgusting and corrupt in his eyes and can no longer bless us, and will more than likely let the progressives take down what’s left of our once great republic. The 60’s were our warning sign, but we couldn’t see it, like the Jews in Germany didn’t see the Nazi’s plan for their annihilation. The only hope is when Jesus returns, because we are no longer a free nation with laws, but a chaotic country of juvenile deliquents and ungodly government officials lording over the coming catastrophy.

Hmm ~ it's still a tax, and an oppressive Fascist tax at that.

So, Fascism from Fascists ~ what did anyone expect.

America, Britain and Scandinavia remain as the only nations to not undergo a de-nazification process after WWII.

Not too late ~

So, Roberts has had a couple of seizures that we know about. We have to presume he uses antiseizure medications of some kind. Based on recent behavior we can guess pretty closely what they are.

Not that suffering from epilepsy should deprive anyone from gainful employment, but for some folks the condition is serious enough they really do have difficulty working, and for others they get in trouble by over or under dosing with their medication.

We can determine what his condition is if and only if we detain him for a few days at the House of Representatives while he metabolizes and excretes the residue of the dilantin, depakote and other drugs he's managed to stuff into his system.

Then, we can give him some performance tasks to see if he's still able to do the sort of work a Supreme Court justice does.

He can entertain himself by playing checkers with Eric Holder!

“It's a penalty, because you have a choice. You don't have a choice to pay your taxes, right,”

ummm .. Actually, I do, and in a way, all taxes are penalties.

I can choose to not earn income so I don't have to pay the earned income penalty (tax).

I can choose not to invest so I don't have to pay the capital gains penalty (tax).

The BIG difference here is whether I pay premiums to an insurance company or pay the penalty (tax) to the government, I'm being forced to pay someone, so only in this case I DON'T have a choice.

The question every reporter with courage should ask every press conference:

“Mr. Carney, the main reason the ACA was upheld was on the basis that the mandate was, in fact, a tax. Do you disagree with the SCOTUS and believe the ACA should have been struck down?”
