MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) -- A man was charged Friday with assaulting a 4-year-old boy weeks earlier, a day after the missing child's body was found under the porch at the youngster's home on a mid-Michigan Indian reservation.
Anthony Bennett, 20, was charged in a federal criminal complaint in Bay City, where he was expected to appear in court. He is not charged in the death of Carnel Chamberlain, but the complaint details the reported physical abuse of the child.

It should have read like this:
Assaulted Mich. Boy Found Dead. Man Charged.
Misleading headline...
Boy was found dead, who according to charges filed had been abused in the recent past.
The alleged perp was charged with the prior abuse about the time the boy’s body was found.
The perp is not dead.
Have yet to see charges filed for murdering the boy.
Most misleading headline, ever.

True. 'Man' is used as the 'subject noun' when the sentence should have started with 'boy'.
The sentence is grammatically incorrect beyond a shadow of a doubt. It cannot be read 'properly'.
You mean 'allegedly' killed him. They haven't even charged him yet.

I agree. Women who stay with any man who is unkind, never mind violent, towards their child should leave him/kick him out in the LEAST. I know morals are dead in most folk’s minds today, but just imagine if these women made a man WAIT to get his sex...she’d find out 99% didn’t give a damn about her...only the sex. Then if she never found that 1% at least she could raise her child in an environment free of a sex crazed dog.

The ‘IDIOTS’, (yes idiots, after all this is AP (used to mean something), and there must be editors, copy writers and at least one or two semi intellects in the ‘chain of custody’ regarding this story.
He has all the right words, amazing what a SIMPLE realignment and comma can provide:
“Mich. boy found dead, man charged with assault(ing)”
And THEY make the big bucks and (supposedly) influence people.
I'd assault Mich. if I got the chance.
