I think congress has to act. It has now been established that the federal government is responsible for the illegals so let them pay form them. Each state that wants the law enforced should file suit against the administration, DHS and ICE. No money should be paid to these agencies until they enforce and obey the laws.

And take it all the way to the supremes. They ruled the Feds have sole responsibility, now make them pay.

Well it still is the taxpayer who foots the bill in the end. Whether state or federal it’s the legal American worker who pays for the illegals benefits that are mandated by either state or federal laws.

At some point the SCOTUS will have a 10th amendent case on it’s hand...because at some point the states will finally have had enough of mandates, threats, and inaction on what is clearly a federal problem...

States will tell Uncle Sammie to go pound sand and stop meddling and being heavy handed..

At least Roberts believes in Federalism...I think

As if this will hold any water.

Like they’re just gonna fork over a check? Yeah, right.

That is brilliant - every state should do this!

They should also send another bill to the Mexican government for allowing their citizens to cross our border illegally, milk off our system and filing suit against our country to keep them.

In 1974, CO impounded taxes due the federal government over a land dispute. It didn’t take long for the feds to cave.

I’m not saying that this would work today, but it’s worth a try. The only way to kill this monstrosity formerly known as the US government is to starve it.

Good job, Hoosiers! I’m waiting for Mitch to announce that he will NOT expand Medicaid and will NOT create health care exchanges.

Could a state refuse to send the Feds their taxes in the amount used to deal with illegals and put it in an escrow account? Earmark the funds for something visible, needed and popular in the state.

Here is a suggestion. When you collect the taxes for the IRS, subtract your 130 million and send them the rest. Make them take you to court for a change instead of the other way around...

The problem with this is that some states have many more illegals. Those states are mostly liberal, right? Those states also mostly provide more taxes to the feds than they take out, right? If this worked, I think it would shift money to liberal states and take it from conservative states overall. It would also be an incentive for liberal states to provide lots of $$$ to illegals because the money would be coming from the feds, and we all know how much states LOVE to spend federal money.
