Facebook Comments About SCOTUS Obamacare Ruling

Written on Sunday, July 1, 2012 by Ann-Marie Murrell 68 scotus Print Friendly

The moment the Supreme Court ruling was announced like most social-media types, I was immediately on my Facebook and Twitter pages posting.

I was going to write an article giving my personal thoughts and opinions but instead I want to share the actual posts of people throughout the United States, Canada and France who commented on the ruling.

Pierre in Canada: “Average waiting time at the ER in Montreal, Canada…18 hours…”

BeeGee: “I have experienced them [E.R.’s] in the Yukon, but since I had American dollars, they took me right in. Felt so bad going ahead of a room full of patients.”

‎Pierre-Marie, France: ‘It is amazing that people who think we cannot afford for doctors, hospitals, and medication somehow think we can afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, medication, and a government bureaucracy to administer it.’ Thomas Sowell. Good luck with that, Americans, here in France the healthcare has become a kind of dictatorship.”

Kristy: “The small biz I work for just had their health insurance increase by 18% and we were told at the time, depending on what the healthcare ruling is, it will probably increase more.”

Gary: “If Obama believes that the Affordable Healthcare Act is such a great program then why isn’t he giving up his healthcare benefits for serving as President and becoming a recipient of Obamacare. I honestly think if the law makers who write these policies for the people were subjected to the same stipulations they would actually come up with some better legislation.”

What did it cost them to get John Roberts to throw it ?

How much did “Shoeless John Roberts” actually get?

ObamaCare is starting to look like “Unwashed MassesCare”. It’s what the “little people” are going to get. The elite will get the real thing.

Our Republic has gone down in flames! First the Congress has disregarded the Constitution (normal for them) but now the Supreme Court has trashed the Constitution!

The only thing left is a peoples uprising against this tyranny. The people (like China) have the ultimate say here.

Do you have any idea how quick the military and local police would put down an uprising? The military industrial complex and the massive defense apparatus around it has ensured that unless they want it, it will never occur in this country.

I think all people should really read about what is happening in other countries that have this Obutthole care and make sure they really think this out and they have one last chance to get out and vote this crap out before it happens here.

You along with many others simply don’t understand the power of the electorate! If you get enough people involved in an uprising, they (we) will prevail!

The local police would be overwhelmed immediately! Most of the military (including the national guard may and probably would) side with the public. The military would also side with the public - we are not a banana republic here - the military has the opportunity to think for themselves.

Only have to look at other countries but with the exception that the military is mostly the public. Yes, they follow orders but they are NOT unable to decide what is Constitutional. As things are going with the Supreme Court, it will be up to the people to decide the ultimate decisions on Constitutionality.

Anyone can see by his photos that he is on the verge of crying... all the time. Probably didn’t take much to push him over the edge, little taunting here, being called a racist there, dick lick, butt head, whatever. Wish we had known how to push him around. That’s the thing about democrats, they think this stuff up as if its second nature to them... wait a minute...

I don’t think you understand the power of the defense apparatus. Do you truly, truly, truly believe the CIA would allow an uprising which would put nuclear weapons, secret underground bases, and top secret technology at risk?

They would kill us all, left wing, right wing, middle it doesn’t matter.

"Do you have any idea how quick the military and local police would put down an uprising?"

Your post contains only ignorance and fear. First there are many levels of "uprising" most of which cannot be dealt with effectively by any central government except one that has created a fear and distrust level equal to what used to exist in Cuba and currently exists in North Korea. Open opposition might be foolishly premature but there is an entire spectrum of options that precede massed militia. For example, with just a handful of professionals I could create absolute chaos in a large American city - on a sustained basis.

Read up on some of Mao's (and other Communist writers) theories regarding how to position agitation in balance with the opinion and morale of the general population.

Second - I suspect that a large minority to a small majority of rank and file LEO's would not support repression of US citizens - depending of course on how the "uprising" was conducted (random acts of terror would backfire but precisely targeted violence would not). We still have a solid majority of the Marine Corp and a small majority of the Army. The Navy would likely stay neutral. I cannot speak for the Air Force.

I could go on. But fortunately we have an election coming up and we have a long way to go before it comes to open hostilities. If we could just get 30% more of the conservative population off their asses and to the polls we could end it there - at least for a while.

Oh my. I am former CIA. First, there is no such thing as “The CIA”. It is just another government agency filled with people from all political persuasions - although a solid majority are conservative or libertarian - or at least they were ten years ago. Second, “The CIA” doesn’t have an army and isn’t in a position to disallow anything.

“They” would kill us all? You watch too many movies.

Most liberals are cowards. A few large demonstrations with a violent undertone in DC and some direct pressure brought to bear against some of the major media outlets and they would scurry back to their closets for 20-30 years. But first let us go to the polls in November.

Agree. I worked in the NHS in Britain in the 80’s. I KNOW exactly what will happen here. All the masses hear is ‘FREE’. They have no idea that EVERYONE will have their taxes go up 10-20% to pay for all that ‘FREE’ care. And they won't get much care anyway.
