Rep. Waxman: Republicans can repeal Obamacare with 51 votes
The Washington Examiner ^ | July 2, 2012 | Joel Gehrke

Republicans can repeal Obamacare with a 51-vote majority in the U.S. Senate through budget reconciliation, according to an architect of the health care law, Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., who also made a death panel-style indictment of the Republican budget.

“I think they could do it,” Waxman told Newsmakers when asked about reconciliation. “I think the American people have to understand that if they vote for Romney and they vote for Republicans to have control of the house and the senate, there’s a good chance that the health care bill will be wiped out and all these benefits will be wiped out.”

After denouncing Republicans for saying that Obamacare would lead to death panels — people who ration health care and thus end up denying care to some people — Waxman deployed the same kind of argument against Republicans.

Well that is if daddy doesn't get his health care dropped by his company in favor of paying the $2,000.00 instead of supplying the employee with the care and if daddy can not afford a health care policy on his own he will only have enough to pay the fee which by the way is 2.5% of your salary or approx. 2,058.00 whichever is Greater (2.5% for a $130K salary is greater than 2,058.) and it is per person for each family member. Nice benefits our family can't wait
we get to pay the penalty and have no health care awesome.

The Dems always talk about the "benefits."

They never mention the drawbacks, like:

And our media never calls them out on the drawbacks.

What gets me is how they call these things “free”. How stupid do you have to be to think this stuff is free???

Personally I don’t care if someone wants their 26 year old kid on their policy as long as they pay for it. But couldn’t that kid just get his own policy cheaper - given the young age??

Unfortunately this law will probably just accelerate our decent into a Greek style implosion. Maybe that’s what Obama is after but I have to doubt that after a Cloward Pliven crisis that we’d end up communist - more likely we go back to 1776 I think.

Benefits? FREE HEALTHCARE!

That’s what most of its supporters believe it is.

Of course, it actually will be “free” for the 0bamapeople. That was the point of this - to reward favored groups and punish non-favored groups.

I don’t see howa bill passed by reconciliation cold not be repealed by reconciliation.

“.....there’s a good chance that the health care bill will be wiped out and all these TAXES will be wiped out.”

There I am sure that is what Waxman meant to say.

First things first.

The nagging fear that I have is that our “learned” Republican Senators and Reps will come up with a replacement plan rather than accept the fact that they are really no smarter than the Democrats and should just turn it over to the states to handle as they see fit. It is a whole lot easier for voters to control the outcome of something in their own state than when they get together as a herd in DC.

I don’t see how a bill that qualified to be passed via reconciliation could not be repealed via reconciliation.

I don’t believe he would allow himself to do that. It would be admitting that he made a mistake. It would also turn the remaining Democrats against him.

It is a new bill. The new bill will be entitled something like: “Repeal of ObamaCare”

It will even be a new Congress with entirely different people in many places.

It is not another vote on an old bill.

Leftists can lie if they please but there is no benefit for anyone under death care. It is more taxes on hard working Americans and will not benefit any of us. It will downgrade the health care of all comers. It will not discriminate in that.

It will cause the loss of countless American jobs while killing off the sick and old. Life will only continue to be less livable. And the taxes Americans pay for this abomination will continue to rise. It is unsustainable.

Either way he wins, by neutralizing the US as a world power.

Granpa too cranky?

Grandma just too push and demanding?

Obama care is the cure for anoying old people!

One easy to do ruling declaring those anoying relatives at “end of life” (wink wink) and presto! family burden GONE in an Obama instant!

no nursing home paperwork!
no guilt for not visiting grandma on Christmas!
no endless listening to grandpa say the same story again!

Obamacare is the antidote for living!

just do not have kids of your own....

well somebody is at least paying.

If Dad is ok with paying and it does not cost the taxpayer, then ok it is free market. (actually surprised they don’t have it offered)

1776?

Far more likely 1789, 1861 or 1917.

Miracles do not cluster.
