Just want to say: I do not post here anymore, not because of any beef with Jim Rob or FR, just because as a Conservative Christian I feel GOD has called me to other sites and venues to preach the Gospel to the lost...

Quix is a good person, he might have quirky ways but I guess we all have crosses to bare in life....

The differences IMHO with Conservatives is what and who are battle is with.. Is it with Liberals? is it with Democrats? is it with Muslims? I suppose to some degree it is, but the majority of this fight is not....I know Quix as well as my self believe the REAL FIGHT is found in scripture during these last days:

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Jesus said he has already overcame this world, should we believe him or question him? ....Many Christians like myself and I believe Quix as well, do not think this is a *Political Battle* it is a *Spiritual Battle* that is the fight and struggle we are fighting....

In closing, I wish Quix well and freepers to have a Blessed Independence Day as we await for the Coming of our LORD...

In the meantime, there are still many people who are lost and suffering who need the comfort and the Gospel in these trying days....

Best I can tell, most of the ruckus on FR this year has been the result of your refusal to support Romney. Had you just said to everyone that you support Romney and urge all FReepers to do likewise, there wouldn’t be all this much trouble. Of course, had you done so, then I would have known this isn’t the site I thought it was.

I personally will not condemn anyone who takes either path. Romney's candidacy, coming on the heels of the GOP-E sandbagging of Tea Party candidates in 2010, will force every last one of us to make a hard decision whether to support Mitt. That is the legacy of the GOP-E - they took what should be a no-brainer and turned it into intellectual torture.

A lot of time and many changes since the Whiter Water Board days. The vast majority of them were/are improvements to the site. Life is not without change and either one accepts it or not. Personally, I would not have posted this screed on the site, but that is not my choice and whether the originator agrees or not (which he so in-elequently wrote) you are the owner of the site and can do what you want, when you want to do it.

I also don't particularly enjoy the manner the solicitation of funds are needed, but I can't think of an improvment other than charging for site use and I know you have not wanted to do that or advertisements since the beginning.

Don't let the noids get you down. You do own the premier site for conservatives to meet and discuss the issues we are passionate about. Unfortunately, every general election cycle it gets a bit crazy and some folks take themselves way more seriously than they should, but that is the nature of the beast. Pretty easy to get callous and throw invective when one is behind a screen at a keyboard.

I, for the most part still strongly enjoy the site. Should there come the time that I don't, I will just quitely slide into the sunset. I try real hard, these days, not to take myself so seriously.

Regarding Quix and the Anti-FReepers (sounds like a bad garage band):

1. Illegitimi Non Carborundum (Don't let the bassturds wear you down)

2. Over the years, Free Republic has given much more than it has received -- to FReepers, lurkers, all; to American politics; to America.

3. In particular, personally, FR has given me knowledge, perspective, entertainment, and a huge amount to think seriously about.

4. FR has enhanced my spiritual self, by exposure to and exchanges with so many devout folks who see more clearly than I do, and whose vision has helped improve my own.

5. Unfortunately, some folks can't see a good thing without wanting to destroy it; can't see a pretty picture without wanting to deface it. Their loss.

Carry on, Jim, and God Bless you, the FR staff, and this wonderful forum. And God Bless America! (She needs it more than the rest of us.)

You may be right, but it’s doubtful too many will give a hit. Personally, unless there’s a compelling reason I try to avoid stepping into places where flies swarm or a noticeable reek is present. And this opus reeks.
