Pot. Kettle. Black. The high road you perceive yourself to be upon is just a figment of your imagination.
I don't think this makes sense.
It is a plain fact that there are certain individuals who want Romney to lose in November and who are posting here in a campaign to bring this about.
A subset of the people doing this have openly admitted to it. I have not objected to these folks who think it better for America if Obama is re-elected and who openly say so. I disagree with them, but that is just a difference of opinion.
Other people campaigning for Romney's defeat have not stated openly that they are doing so, and in some cases I have pointed out that this is what I think they are doing. There is nothing dishonest or unreasonable about my doing this, it is just me openly stating my opinion.
And then there is the whole separate issue of those posting unreasonable and dishonest things against Romney and against those who want him to win in November, whatever outcome to the election these posters prefer. I think this is wrong and bad for conservatism and have said so openly. Again, there is nothing dishonest or unreasonable about my doing this.
I have one now pinging me to threads under the mistaken belief that all the evils of one liberal will shame me into voting for another. He’s up to 3 today. He keeps a running count too ;)
Too bad too since he was once an actual conservative in the Reagan mold, not self deluded the Rogue Yam mold.
Apparently we are supposed to feel bad about standing for what’s right.
Mr. President. It’s a stretch you can handle. I’ll see to it along with at least two members of your family...LOL.
Once to Every Man and Nation is the hymn version. Great words. Great words.
No it doesn't. I am as sure as one can be that Obama will take stands on just about every issue that are the polar opposite of mine. I suspect I'll agree with Romney about 50% of the time, and oppose him about 50% of the time. To the extent Romney turns out to be worse that that, I'm not worse off than I'd have been if Obama got elected. At the very least, Romney believes in capitalism. Obama doesn't.
People, PLEASE consider the ultimate good sense of voting for a plurality; Obama is held in such low regard now that there is virtually zero chance he could get anything but a plurality in the best of circumstances -- much of his support has evaporated over the past four years.
Plurality? I assume you mean in the popular vote, because the electoral college is going to have a majority for one or the other.
If every single Freeper voted 3rd party, that's what, 60,000 or so votes? Millions vote third party in every election, so the "statement" being made by an additional 60,000 votes is meaningless. Nobody will care.
In any case, Bubba was elected with a plurality, and it didn't seem to phase him. Bush actually lost the popular vote to Gore, and that didn't seem to phase him in terms of governing either. This dramatic gesture you envision would be completely inconsequential, because nobody is going to care about the popular vote anyway. And certainly not the 60,000 votes of Freepers that aren't relevant to who wins in the electoral college.
Trish: Wrong. Completely and utterly wrong.
You, Trisham, are RIGHT. Completely and utterly RIGHT.
Wolf, people are responsible for their own "pissed-off" -ness. Saying otherwise is like the guy who goes postal and shoots folks, blaming them because they pissed him off.
Just wow.
Third answer. "The dog ate my homework and somebody stolded mah name."
Every forum I have signed up for required an email address for membership. Instead of spending time on FR making accusations the site owner at TBL could very easily check out the email addy on file, or as they do here, check the IP on the posts. But I'll bet that won't happen.
The "name-stealing figment" is just the lame excuse for getting caught in a slur of JR.
Of course not. You are on the high road. And your sh** don't stink, either.
I read some of your recent posts. You fling the poo right at the fan.
But when confronted with your own posting history, you say, who, me? My intentions are pure.
You are making no sense.
I never said that my posts are completely beyond reproach.
In fact I said precisely the opposite of this in the very text you excerpted.
You have failed utterly to maintain the plot here.
Which is exactly why FR and in fact the entire conservative movement has the situation it does right now. Liars within causing chaos.
Look at the entire primary season. Same thing over and over. People lying through their teeth to defend the documented and unarguable ‘sins’ of their chosen candidates. No good ever comes from it.
“I am not saying that my every one of my thousands of posts here has been completely beyond reproach, but in very large measure I have posted substantively, intelligently, rationally, and honestly. Anyone who impugns my moral character based on what I have posted on FR is speaking untruth.” ******************************
No kidding?

You are a deranged hater.
All the rest is lies.

That is the explanation you seek.

Are you attempting to derail the thread because you hate America?

You and napscoordinator are both psychotic liars.
You both want Obama re-elected.
A person would have to be insane (or a leftist) to respect either one of you.

This place has become an Obama campaign website and it is by design.
The exact form of the design is not readily apparent, but the agenda here is defeating the GOP nominee.
That is what Free Republic now is.

LOL, are you serious?
True. I expect it will be Romney.
Neither Obama, Hillary, Carville, Palin, Gingrich, Rouge Yam are candidates yet.
If nominated I will not run, etc.
The GOP has been swinging left for some time, it is NOT becoming more conservative.
You and I disagree on this point. Look at all the conservative young up-and-coming GOP stars: Bobby Jindal, Paul Ryan, Scott Walker, Rand Paul, Allen West, Mike Lee, Ron Johnson, etc. It is not just that we have new, young conservatives in office. These folks are becoming the new identity of the GOP. I say we help them and send them reinforcements.
The GOP had it 's chance with the Tea Party, and they did all they could to destroy it and the Conservative Movement
Yes, there is entrenched corruption in the GOP. As I said above, I believe some amount of entrenched corruption will exist in any political party. I propose that we expose, oppose, and remove the corrupt elements from within the GOP whenever possible. But I do not support abandoning the GOP to the crooks and RINOs.
What is your proposal?
Perhaps even more than you think. For the last several weeks, I've been methodically compiling a list of FReepers who have stated, and in a few cases implied so strongly that it is near enough, that they (like Jim Robinson and you and me) refuse to vote for Romney, that he's a bridge too far.
So for weeks now, when see a post where it looks like that person may be one of us, I go in forum and scan his posts for going back a few pages. A large number of them are marvelously eloquent and accurate and passionate in describing all the pitfalls and evil and betrayal of Romney ... and then somewhere they'll say, "But I'm going to hold my nose and vote for him anyway."
I see it so often that it's become abundantly clear that ABO via Romney is purely deranged, so much so that folks succumbing to it are not aware of their own abandon. It is the biggest red flag among many red flags that Romney, regardless of Obama, is a very, very bad thing for everyone.
I started the list because I wanted to satisfy my own curiosity, to see how many FReepers, like me, stood with Jim Robinson. I figured we'd be a sad but brave minority among FReepers, maybe numbering 60. My list is now at 168, very nearly exceeding threefold my expectations.
No, he never talked like the 9/11 Truthers. What Quix was about, was connecting the “political” to the “Biblical” and that would be in terms of Bible Prophecy (and from an Evangelical and perhaps “Dispensational” theology).
That’s where there is a huge one-world government that is basically satanically-run and has complete control and sway over the world (in terms of “world-government”) and is finally defeated, in the end, at the coming of Jesus Christ, who sets up his own rule and government over the world - in place of the previous satanically run government - and there is a 1,000 year reign of Christ on this world.
And this “rule and reign” of Jesus Christ - is not something in a “figurative sense” - but is physical and real - just like you see Obama in the President’s office or you saw Bush or any other President. Jesus will actually rule from the city of Jerusalem (that’s the one in Israel right now - that we’re talking about). It will be a real government - just like governments are today and have real laws and people will live real lives and have children and build houses and have work to do ... and so on.
That’s where Quix would be coming from - and MIND YOU - this is part of the legitimate WORLD-VIEW of a huge and overwhelmingly large number of Christians in the USA (and they’re also in the world at large, too).
SO ... we’re not really talking about some kind of “whacko” here ... as this IS A THEOLOGICAL POSITION that carries over into the “political realm” of world governments and politics. And Quix was always talking about that.
Not much of one for logic and persuasion, are you?
In THAT case, please inform the MittBots who are blasting those of us who are sticking by our principles and refusing to be bullied into voting for Romney, that they can now SHUT UP because "we aren't relevant".
Made plenty of sense, just not to you. If not every one of your posts was completely beyond reproach, then thousands of your others were completely beyond reproach, you suggest.
I’ve read enough of the FR posts by “rogue yam” in the past and enough by the “rogue yam” who is posting on this thread today to know many of the claims of innocence are false. I think both of you are lying about who and what you are.
You’re a slippery FR poster and are acting like a silly person today. Does that make sense to you now?
